1951 MG TD Roadster - 5,042 miles. Red with biscuit leather interior. Frame off restoration about 10 years ago. Pretty car - ready to drive and enjoy. History: With 2800 miles on the odometer, the crank was broken and car was parked. That owner began a restoration but was not completed. So the car was put in storage for 13 years. Current owner bought the car about 20 years ago and began the restoration from there. Found a new crank (from England), rebuilt the engine, and completed the frame off restoration. Car was very solid - small portion of rust under drivers door - replaced with new metal. Wood was excellent - still is - one very small piece was replaced. Upgraded the oil pump, replaced the brakes (even though the original brakes showed no wear). New seals and gaskets - original felt rear main seal still in place (hence the expected British car oil drip). Engine is clean and detailed. Gas tank was cleaned and sealed. As mentioned, there was only one small area of corrosion, which was replaced with new metal. Body straight. Chrome is beautiful and in good condition. Bumpers shiny and nice - windscreen chrome is original and shows a little deterioration. New interior and top. No side curtains. Gauges clear. Paint around the instrument cluster is original and beginning to chip around the edges. There are also just a couple very minor scratches and a little paint flaking on the rear (near the gas fill). Undercarriage is clean and detailed. Numbers on the car: Body Type 22381 Body #7644/72605. Car # TD8225 EXL/NA Engine # XPAG/TD/LHX8485. Kelly Metric steel belted radial tires. This is a very nice, showy car - probably not a #1 Concours show car, but definately one of the nicest TDs around. Fun to drive and enjoy. Certified funds or wire transfer only.
