Vehicle Detail
fatdogvap Store 1971 Alfa Romeo Spider with approximately 44,000 original miles on the clock (I am currently out of town and can supply accurate mileage number and VIN after the 27th). This car has been stored in a dry garage for nearly 30 years waiting for a new head gasket so at this point the motor is in need of a complete rebuild. Other than the motor and the usual master cylinder, clutch cylinder and caliper seals and other long term storage issues there are no other obvious things related to getting the car operational that I know of. I do, however, have a running 1750 from a '69 Spider that I can include (uninstalled) for an additional $1000 over the winning amount. As far as the existing motor goes, there is a head and injection system so it is mostly complete but has been sitting apart for 30 years so it will need a total rebuild. It will need new tires, and could use a paint job and a new rear window but overall the interior is in good shape and there is only one small hole in the drivers seat that I have found and remarkably there are no cracks in the dash!!!As far as rust goes, there seems to have been some repairs to the rockers, but there is very little visible rust which is only in the area of the rockers. This vehicle has a Pennsylvania title that was issued in the early 80's. It is located in Medway, MA and can be viewed in person anytime, just please call me at 508-930-1323 first. Please feel free to ask any questions. He noticed that at some point the car had taken a hit in the rear that has slightly tweaked the sheet metal. This is an aesthetic issue that should pose no ill affects to the handling of the vehicle and can be attended to during the repaint.
