Vehicle Detail

1951 Plymouth 2 Door Coupe Cranbrook Model P-23 This is a 1951 Plymouth 2 door coupe. A Great Start up classic for any person that is starting to get into this great hobby. I posted this car up a while back and then decided I could not part with it but unfortunately health and to many toys dictate that I must this time. This is a great running car, and in great exterior shape. This car has an awesome running inline 6 Flathead motor with three speed on the column. It has a new transmission, and new clutch, also has new floors. This car has a great interior and of course a classic all steel dash painted to match the exterior of the car. This car only has a few little bubbles, and the only rust it really has in a small whole in the trunk(pictured) other than that a super solid car that is ready to driven. Just picture yourself in this 50's classic cruising the streets. A great car that I purchased not so long ago but plans have changed due to my health I have other cars and had to pick one. This car turn heads at any cruise night. Be different, how many Mustangs, Camaros and yes Corvettes (Although I love them) can you look at in a car show before you fall asleep. According to the previous owner the paint is about ten years old and although it looks good it's not as shiny as a new paint job. This is good in a way as many used classics get painted to cover the rust spots and you do not find out until months later when the beautiful paint on your car starts to crack and you realize you purchased a bucket of rust. At this point explain to your wife why you want to do a complete restoration and spend thousands and hope she does not realize you bought a money pit. This car hasn't been painted or buffed up to make it look better or hide anything. It comes with the original radio but does not work all the tubes light up in the back but the transistor is shot. It only comes with the windshield wiper on the drivers side (that needs to be connected) and will need the passenger side one. In the pictures the steering wheel is missing the center cap but I custom fabricated a center cap for it or the original sell on eBay for about $60. I was in the process of doing some minor details to it when I was told to chose. The car was currently garaged and I just installed a new ignition switch, starter relay, plugs, wires and oil changed. I was also in the process of finishing up some wires that I never liked how they looked on the car but new owner will have to finish. I did cut the muffler out and put out straight pipes for that rich sound. I installed new lights in the dash as it only had a couple working. I added a battery disconnect so that I would not have the battery plugged out for extended periods of times if I was not going to use it. I purchased a new hood emblem on eBay, therefore I took the old one of in anticipation for the new one so I could take to the car to a car show with my new emblem and the seller sent me the emblem in a regular envelope and when I got it, it was in pieces. I put on the old one quickly back on to take to the show and like an idiot I put it on backwards as you can see in the pictures. I took the radio out so that I can restore it therefore new owner will have the chance of restoring the radio or simple replacing it with a new one. As mentioned above also I started replacing some of the basic wires as the wiring from 1951 is bad in some places like the headlights. I did not finish this and new owner will need to finish. The way the car is now you can get on and drive away with no issues that I am aware of. Again, I have driven this car very far and under very extreme weather conditions and it has behaved better than some of other classics, however I did start basic restoration and winner will need to complete while enjoying it instead of having it sit in a garage. I will not give test rides, unless I am driving it myself. If you purchase the car it is yours, and does not mean you come waste time and tire kick with no money. My health will not allow me to show the car to 100 tire kickers or day dreamers as what was starting to happen last time I posted it. I have tried to describe the car as best as I can and please ask me any questions you may have or ask for me to take any picture you may want in order to help you with your purchase. If I know the answer I will gladly let you know. I want this car to go to a good home. In the past I have shopped on eBay and gone to see several classic and muscle cars which never turned out to be what they looked in the pictures or how they were described except for a few honest sellers. I would not be selling this car if it wasn't because of health reasons and way to many toys. I have already changed my mind several times but I must sell it this time as I got yet another car coming in two weeks and just can't continue collecting and not letting go however this does not mean that I am desperate for money or will entertain dumb offers like the guy who wanted to buy the car but pay me three months later. This car is not a show winner but definitely a great start to get there on a shoe string budget. I have taken it to shows that were hours away in the hot Miami heat and ran like a champ, never overheated and rode great and had many fans come over and ask questions as the coupe two door is harder to find than the four doors. This is a Plymouth Cranbrook P-23 which means that you are buying a very big piece of history as the maker and model no longer exist as compared to other makers and models who are still around. You will be able to ride it to cruise nights while doing small little things to it. All four tires are new and from what I was told at a show the rims looked like they are from the 50's (Original Rims) as it was a bit hard finding the air plug that would fit the rims as the hole is more an oval shape than the standard round shape used on rims today. I am pretty sure miles are not accurate. I am not sure how many times I can say I love this car but had to pick one out of 6 toys, now 7, and this was the only one I do not have as much history with believe it or not. All the others I can write hours and hours of details. I currently have the car with a car cover, and under a car port. I love this car because of its purity and originality. It's very original and has probably seen more of life than any of us will ever see, however I cannot devote time to it and all the others I have. THANKS YOU FOR LOOKING AT MY AD At the end of the pictures there is a short black and white video I did of the car making it look like if it was back in the 50's plus another color video of the car. Email always works best or contact me at 786-317-7479. I probably have the worse cell phone in the world therefore leave me a message and I will call you back if I do not answer the first time around.
