Vehicle Detail
....1966 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible with RARE 440 Four Barrel option...original Georgia car...I believe that I am the 3rd owner. This is a mostly original 118,000 driver. The body: The car appears to have been repainted once some time ago. The paint is faded and I have not found any evidence of rust repair or major dent filling. There is some rust to the lower quarters that will need some minor patch repair. The floors are good...trunk needs some minor patches. The chrome and trim is straight and decent. The grill is very nice. The rear taillights and trunk trim have some pits. The interior: It appears to be all original and shows its age. The seats will need recovering and the carpet needs replacing though is still ok for a driver. The dash is nice with one small crack. The panels front and rear are decent. The console and shifter are nice. The top frame is excellent and the power motor and latches operate well. The top is ok though it does have a minor tear on the driver's side near the boot molding. The engine: The engine compartment is very nice. The motor and transmission are in good condition and have not given me any trouble. The engine idles and accelerates nicely....trans shifts smoothly. I did convert the distributor to electronic with a Pertronix kit. The radiator is a later model that has been pressure tested. I also added a recirculation tank. The carb was rebuilt not too long ago...original AFB. The hoses, belts, wires, battery etc have been changed recently. What works...what does not: The A/C and cruise are intact and I have not tried to get them working. The front window motors have been replaced...the rears need replacing. Included are spare rear motors, front and rear regulators, wiring harness and driver's 4 switch panel from a parts car. As far as I know all the lights and gauges work. Bottom line....this is a great opportunity to own one of Chrysler's more rare convertibles. This car would be perfect to restore while you drive! Reasonable Reserve Car will be sold with a Bill of Sale and State of Georgia Tag Receipt. Please feel free to call for more info or more pictures. Thanx Kurt (706) 296-3615 alongthelinega store
