1969 TRIUMPH 650 BONNEVILLE BEAUTIFUL Older Restoration 1969/1970 are often considered the ultimate years for "unit" Triumph motorcycles. They had it all-the classic beauty, more modern 12 volt electrics, twin leading shoe vented front brakes, and other upgrades just before the ugly and problematic "oil in frame" models in '71. The motorcycle offered here is the top of the line twin carb 1969 T120R Bonneville. This matching numbers motorcycle was treated to a sympathetic restoration several years ago. It was repainted, engine rebuilt, some rechroming, and a new Lucas OEM wiring harness was installed. The seat, tires, and all rubber are in excellent condition. The restoration was done some 10 years ago, and has had approximately 1500 miles since. Everything on the bike works as it should. It is correctly painted in the original "Olympic Flame" with silver scallops. The tank itself is an earlier version of larger capacity and with the luggage rack. The paint is absolutely perfect with no issues. The fenders are stainless. Some plain parts are upgraded to polished aluminum such as the rear engine mounts and some of the upper cylinder parts. The chain guard is a beautiful custom polished stainless item. In the interest of weight savings, the center stand was removed by the previous owner. It has a side stand only. The chrome is near perfect with only a minor flaw here and there. All the correct stickers and decals are present. The wheels have some slight fog and freckling on parts of the rim, visible only on very close inspection. Mileage is unknown-the gauges are later 1970 versions. Everything on the bike works perfectly. It starts with one or two kicks and runs beautifully. There is no smoke and it shifts and brakes smoothly. A Wassell electronic ignition and Tympanium regulator have been installed and they work flawlessly. It has plenty of power and is a super comfortable mount. It comes with a clear California title in my name with current registration until June 2019. It is registered on newer white CA plates, but the black plate can be applied to the bike in California under the YOM program. This motorcycle is not advertised anywhere else and this auction is the exclusive venue to purchase it. This is a rare opportunity to obtain an extremely desirable bike in this condition.
