1985 HONDA BIG RED 250ES. clutchless 5 speed with reverse, electric start and backup Kickstarter so if the battery would ever die the machine will Start and run with the kick starter. My wifes grandfather owned this atc for many many many years. He only used it for the sole purpose of driving to his mailbox and back down their 1.5 mile long driveway one day per week. because of his bad hips so it was rarely used at all for all its life until he passed away and then was given to my wife and I when the belongings were split up throughout the family. It has always been garage kept in a heated dry garage and never left outside. Nothing but non ethonal 91-93 octane fuel has been used in it as far as I have been told. It was not uncommon to visit grandpa and find him in the garage cleaning his three wheeler, he always made sure it was clean and like new. If he ever found any dirt on it it would be first priority to get it off and he in NO WAY would even consider taking it out if it was raining or muddy outside. It runs absolutely perfect and leaks nothing. It runs, drives, looks and sounds like new. The tires are in great condition and it has never been driven on concrete or pavement so the tires never really had any wear on them at all. There is a nice storage trunk under the rear rack and a front basket for things also. under the front basket there is the standard rack. Another cool thing that this atc has is a detachable headlight that comes out with a long extension chord so you can use it as a spotlight or shine light. I will add a picture to show this because it is hard to explain in words. There is also a engine case or foot frame guard and a trailer hitch. There still is the original plastic covering the front brake levers just to show how much little use it actually has had over the years. The whole rear plastic fender and rack tilts and stands up to access anything under the atv in the rear and has a kick stand to hold it in place. The brakes all work execelent. Plastics are all in good condition and the pictures do not lie. Behind the front fender there is a rubber mud flap thing that was slightly melted a little by the exhaust years ago at one point somehow.....I am guessing it sat idling for a while and just got too hot. The only issue it currently has is that the headlight switch was not working on the left handlebar because the contacts were not making a connection so I opened it up and tied the wire together with a wire nut to the other one so the lights are no on at all times when the machine is running. a new control is $30-$50 brand new on eBay and simply plugs right in. The electric and kick start both work great. lastly there is a dent in the engine/foot guard thing up towards the front from a small tree grandpa bumpped into. The seat cover was replaced by grandpa years ago after he sat down with a sizzords in his back pocket and cut the seat. The seat now over quite a few years has a few small holes in the corners and such........just look at the pictures. I have seen big reds in bad condition sell for $2000 or more and this one is very very nice. I am not greedy so I am starting the auction at only $1300 with no reserve and the buy it now optionoption for $2550. You can arrange your own shipping or pick it up at my house. I will offer to deliver it to you also anywhere in the lower 48 states. I will charge $1 per loaded mile one way to your chosen location wherever it is. For example if you are 428 miles from Watertown WI 53098 then I will bring it directly to you for $428.00 in addition to the purchase price. If you are out of the country and need it put into a shipping container to ship overseas then I will take it to the shipping container company for you, strap it down and lock it into the container for you but my $1/mile fee to the shipping container location will need to be paid for first before I take it there.....I will provide the locks and tie down straps for you. After it is Locked in I will Mail you the key for the atc and the keys for the shipping container locks. $400 PayPal deposit is due right away after auction ending. I expect the balance to be paid in full within 5 days after the auction ends also. I would also expect contact immediately after the auction ends with your address, phone number and shipping/pickup intentions. If you need time to pick it up at a later date I have no problem keeping it in the garage covered and unused for up to the end of January to allow you time to come get it or pay the shipping fees BUT IT MUST STILL BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS NO MATTER WHAT. After it is paid for it is yours and will not be used at all!!!! but as of the end of janurary if it is not picked up I will consider it abandoned and no refund will be given. I am not a free storage unit so please don't take advantage of the offer so I just needed to disclose that.
