They redesigned the rear frame and everything that went with it. The side covers, a thinner seat, air filters, battery tray, electrical suite etc. have all been redesigned so that the seat could rest 2 inches shorter. This is a later ’72 model as it doesn’t have the “styling rib” on the lower front fork sliders. This version gives this bike a much cleaner look to it. Triumph also swapped the handlebar switches so that left side was dedicated to the directional signals and kill switch and the right side controls the headlight, horn and headlight dimmer. This roadster shifts on the right side and comes with the optional 5-speed gear box. It also has English made Wassell Sporting Handlebars. A one owner bike, who bought this bike in April 1977 at Burton L. Ives & Sons, Inc. in Willimantic Connecticut. He injured himself and needed to sell it. It’s 100% original! This beauty has all of the original decals on it. It looks and handles very well. Everything works electronically. As expected for a 45 year old classic there are a few scratches and patina present. This motorcycle is being sold As-Is. It only has 21,429 miles on it.
