This is a CT car , CT does not title vehicles 20 years or older . This Ghia has a valid CT registration and will come with a CT Q1 transfer of ownership form . Buyers within the United States will have no problem registering this car as your local Dmv will only ask you for the Q1 and previous registration . However please check with your local Dmv before bidding , your Dmv can not ask you for a document CT does not issue ....but hey , it's the Dmv ! This is a 1969 Karmann Ghia , 4 speed , with an early 1970's 1600 cc engine . The odometer reads 11743 , clearly the odometer has been flipped . So I'm assuming it is 117,430 , could it be 217430 ? I do not know .The previous owner put a lot of time and good amount of money to bring the car up to where it is now .Some of the features on this Ghia are :8 spoke rims, good rubber with knock offs ( left rear tire only holds air for a week , I have not looked into why )Bug pack shifter , nice tight shift linkage add on VDO gauges with an aftermarket working tachometer newer calipers / rotors / pads : brakes work excellent and car stops straight replacement aftermarket gas tanknew aftermarket wiring harness Webber progressive carburetor Clean 1600 engine with upgraded Alternator painted dash vs wood paneling good nose ridge workable body presentable interior with newer carpet and clean front seats front end / steering is good : drives straight and does not dance when you hit a rough part of road What this Ghia needs : Body work on this car was not professionally done and is not finished Paint is an amateur job but it looks good from 10-15 feet , I do have the extra paint he used on car.There are still areas on the body that require repair : nose grilles:left rocker:lower left door:decklid lip: & misc areasFront pan is good : the rear has been patched and still shows some rust holes Rear seat cover has some tears decklid has a clearance issue with the Webber CarbEngine needs a different distributor as the 009 has a bog / flat spot down low or a better Tech to tune it Overall this is basically an almost complete running car ready for the next owner to take it to the next level.....or simply get the timing right to work out the flat spot in the lower rpm's .I say almost complete as It has no wipers , nose emblem , side trim and whatever else it could be missing ....I think I have the side emblem and side trim for this car , If I find it , It will go with the Ghia. When i bought this car I drove it an hour home on the freeway with no issues . If you know Ghia's , you know what your looking at . I just started collecting these cars two years ago , I have 10 air-cooled Vw's now and need to make some room for winter .
