An unusual find, this car came out of dry, Eastern Oregon high desert and is rust free. It was garaged for all of its life and never saw a winter's day. The car runs and drives well with the original 292 V8 and automatic transmission. It is all original with a few exceptions. There is add-on power brakes which have a factory appearance. The body is nearly perfect except for two tiny parking lot nicks. It may even be original paint. The chrome shines up very well and the interior is in good to very good condition. Excellent considering the 116.00 miles on the odometer. The radio is non-functional and is an aftermarket, cassette lookalike. The points have been replaced with electronic ignition. The hardtop is from a 1956-57 but is in excellent condition. One of the rear mounting brackets seems to need adjustment. There is no soft top. I drove the car from La Grande Oregon home and the little bird handled the highway just fine. For a longer trip, new wide whites might be in order. The tires on the car have great tread but are weathered from age. This was my lifelong dream car when I bought it two years ago. Right down to the Thunderbird Blue paint and turquoise interior. I have since driven it no more than two hundred miles...when summer rolls around, I take to the highway in my yellow Porsche Boxster. The Thunderbird sits forlorn in my garage. Since I don't do car shows and we have few parades around this rural area, the roadster's car cover gathers dust. Time to let someone else enjoy the roadster who will actually put it through its paces. The car is being sold with NO RESERVE.
