Our inventory seems to revolve more around the Steve McQueen side of the equation, if you get the Bullitt reference. We love pretty much all of the Muscle Cars, but he Chargers are very high on our list.This Charger is a great looking example. Wearing a decades old repaint done in a custom Gold with a metal flake. There are numerous imperfections from stone chips to scratches. There really are no obvious dents or body damage though. The only damage to the car appears to have been to the driver’s quarter panel that had been repaired. The repair appears to have been sound as the older paint shows no cracking or indications of the repair externally. There is some filler in the panel but the lines are crisp and the panels line up well. The grill is complete and functioning, but there is some trim work to do on close inspection. The bumpers are straight and the chrome looks great for original. The moldings for the top and windows are in nice shape with the normal wear. Overall a nice presenting car, call this one a stunning 20 footer.The floors and even the trunk pan are the originals and appear to be in good condition. There are a couple small spots with pinholes, but still very solid, especially for originals. The drivers door has some bubbling at the front corner, nothing has broken the paint, but it is there. The car is very solid for an older repaint.Inside the black bucket seat interior was restored years ago. The seats show wear but are still comfortable, good enough for a driver and a great base for restoration. The carpet is in overall good condition with minor wear. The door panels were recovered in a then cool and now, well…vintage look upholstery. The dash will need some work as the pad around the radio bezel needs to be replaced and a couple of the A/C vents are missing. The Factory Tachometer works while the clock on the interior of it no longer does. The speedometer works as does the horn, temp, oil & gas gauges. The A/C/Heater box is still in place but the best plan would be to go with the Vintage Air Gen IV system that would provide you with a modern a/c & heating system that replaces the worn old pieces with shiny (& working) new ones. The kit is the SureFit Systems Complete Kit PN-971062 sold at Summit for $1435. It comes with the underdash components as well as the underhood pieces for a complete kit. It is truly a complete kit that installs relatively easy and works very nicely. Under the hood the 383 runs excellent. It has been upgraded with a larger camshaft, aluminum intake manifold, long tube headers and more. The 383 represents the breed well with crisp throttle response a quick rev and tire spin on demand. The 4-Speed shifts like butter with easy gear engagements. The 8 ¾” Sure-Grip Differential keeps the power to both tires and is always a willing partner for tail happy shenanigans.The tire & wheel package consists of 17x8 front with an 18x9.5 rears. The front tires are 245 45’s and the rears are 285 40 Eagle F1 Supercars. They do fill up the wheel wells and look great.The electrical systems work including the headlights, wipers & gauges. A new alternator & fuel sender were just installed.This is a good running & driving car, but there are still some projects to do, mainly the a/c & heat system. Plan on putting some sweat equity into this one.
