It looks odd because the original owner coated it with something and then laid strips of paper grocery bags on the floor (I would imagine to keep the coating from getting on items hauled in the trunk). Regardless of why she did it, it preserved the trunk floor to near perfect condition. It looks odd because when I tore the paper up it stuck in a few spots and I never scraped the rest of it. There are no holes in the trunk floor.
