The gorgeous Candy Apple Red paint was just wet-sanded & buffed and ready to profile. Broncos have been on a tear both in popularity and in value. Hagerty Classic Car Values on these have DOUBLED in the last 5 years and have increased over 17% in the last year alone. If you want an investment you can actually enjoy, take a good look at this. After all, have you even seen anyone at the beach sporting their stock portfolio?This ’74 was restored about 10 years ago and then used sparingly and garage stored. The paint & interior were all in great condition. It had been used sparingly for parades and light cruising. The original trim presents nicely and even the original bumpers still show well. If you like the ‘Classic’ Bronco look, this is a very hard to beat look.The ‘Classic’ look carries over into the interior with stock seats. These seats have of course been recovered eliminating the factory vinyl seating area. If you have ever sat in sun baked vinyl you probably still have the scars to prove it. Thankfully the seats now have skin sparing cloth inserts. These breathable covers not only make the sun more survivable but don’t stick to you either. The floors have been bed-lined to make cleaning out the sand a matter of a leaf blower or garden hose. The 4 point roll bar gives you protection as well as a nice perch for that Brand New Bikini Top.The engine has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Intake Manifold, Edelbrock 4 Barrel Carburetor, Nickel Plated Headers and Performance Dual Exhaust. It performs well and sounds great.The C4 Automatic Transmission is a highly desirable option making it an easy driver. It goes into gear quickly and shifts confidently.When we inspected the differentials both had wear on the gears that exceeded spec. So…they were both disassembled and new ring & pinions were installed. They perform nicely and are quiet on the road. Since this Bronco is a cruiser, we went with the stock 3.50 gearing to make highway trips a breeze. The front driveshaft too was worn and was replaced with a new unit from Tom’s Broncos. The transfer case checked out fine and was serviced.The 4” Suspension Lift was installed with all the correct parts. The track-bar was lowered, radius arms lowered and new bushings installed throughout. We had it aligned to our specifications and it now has 4.4’ of caster, correct camber, correct toe and a special touch of our own. The steering wheel is nice & tight on center, returns to center after turns and doesn’t hunt the grooves on the road. This Bronco can easily cruise at highway speeds without the normal ‘nervousness’ associated with classic Broncos.The full set of 5 tires & wheels are brand new. The Helos are a classic look wheel with a modern twist. The Candy Apple Red shows very well against the Full Chrome Wheels. The tires are Toyo ATII’s, our favorite tire to run on these trucks. We have tried many and these ones are easily our favorites. They are the ‘Goldilocks’ tire combining quiet on road use, excellent driving characteristics and very surprising off-road capabilities.
