Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice 1964 Buick Riviera. It was recently reawakened from a 22 year slumber. This car came from Sun City Arizona which is a large retirement community near Phoenix. The car was last registered in 1992 and the family said it had been sitting longer than that. It has 63,201 miles displayed currently and everything about the condition of the car leaves no doubt that these are the true miles. It has been thoroughly reconditioned by a master mechanic and is in excellent running and driving condition. The interior is all original and shows nearly no wear on it at all. The upholstery is still soft and pliable. The armrests and steering wheel show zero wear and aside from a couple of very small cracks in the steering wheel, appear as new. The pedals show no wear and the carpeting is excellent with no stains anywhere. It had the original Buick rubber mats, but the dry Arizona climate made them crack into a million pieces. The very rare cloth seat covers are again in excellent condition with no wear evident. All of the die cast chrome is perfect and shines like a diamond. The walnut inserts on the console and doors is likewise perfect with no chips or scratches. All of the glass is original with the correct date codes and all power windows work as designed. This car has manual vent windows. This has the speed minder on the speedometer. It also has the signal seeking radio. It has factory Air conditioning, tilt wheel, power drivers seat, that cool vacuum trunk release that has a miniature bicycle pump handle in the glove box. When you pull it you create the vacuum to pop the trunk. The trunk itself is in great shape with a few statins on the original mat from decades of hauling stuff. The most remarkable thing is the cardboard covers in the trunk area are excellent. It has the original jack and accessories and one of what I believe is the original tires mounted on the spare wheel. It still has three of the original T-3 headlights. The exterior of the car is in superb condition. There are few if any dings chips or dents that I could find on the entire body. The chrome is excellent, straight and has zero pitting on the miles of pot metal on these cars. I'm certain there must be a minimal flaw somewhere, but I haven't seen it. I took some pictures of inside the wheel lips. There are hardly any rock chips! The factory hubcaps have zero scratches and the emblem is fine with no fading. The car has been repainted at some time in the past or at least touched up but the only thing we've done to it is polished it out. It shines like a mirror. I took a few picture down the side of the car and it is very straight. Cosmetically I wouldn't do anything else to it. They are only original once. I kind of wish it were a more exciting color, but according the Riviera Owners Club, this is by far the most popular color on these cars in 1964. The lenses are all crystal clear with no discoloration or crazing. The bumpers align perfectly. The only imperfection I could find is on top of the grill when the hood is open, there is a painted dull aluminum and it has some stains from years of checking vital fluids. It could be repainted it ten seconds, but that would detract from the incredibly original feel of the car. This car stops people in their tracks at every car show it has been to. It just looks right. The engine is the venerable 425 cid / 360 horse dual quad nailhead. It runs like a Swiss watch. The carburetors have been completely rebuilt and function as they should including the finicky choke system. The fuel tank was thoroughly cleaned and all filters, fluids, and antifreeze was changed. The car received new hoses and belts. It sounds wonderful breathing through the dual exhaust. All leaks were attended to and all tune up items were changed with premium parts used throughout. A brand new set of premium all season radials add to the cloudlike ride these are are famous for. All shocks, bushings, front end parts and alignment are spot on. this car truly is a turn key instant show car. The engine has not been painted, just cleaned up when new gaskets were installed. The giant chrome air cleaner is in very good condition and the chrome is excellent. All systems work as they should, but the Freon has not been topped off. I think that is pushing it for a 50 year old car. All lights, turn signals, horn and dash lights work as new. Also included with the car is an original factory service manual. The transmissions works as new with bright clear fluid, The car is ready to roll. I want to emphasize the originality of this car. It is a Southwest Desert car that has never seen a salted road. It obviously has been well loved it entire life and has not been abused. There is a rock solid tightness to an original car that can't be duplicated in a restoration shop. The doors close like a vault and all components are exactly as they should be. This is a real time capsule that seldom becomes available. Due to the age of the car it must be sold as is. I am not aware of a single item the car is in need of. It was carefully revived to be a dependable automobile with a great deal of attention focused on preserving as much of the factory appearance as possible. Quite often a car looks much better in pictures than it does in person. There will be no disappointments with this car. It truly is exceptional. The usual rules apply to this auction. Check with your, wife, spouse, significant other, Priest, Labrador or Astrologer before bidding. This car has a clear clean Arizona title. The car will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank. No Nigerian princes. No trades. No third party checks payable in Kroners. I can help with shipping anywhere in the world at buyers expense, of course. I want half of the winning bid within five days of auction ending and the balance within ten days. I can store it for 30 days at no cost. Anything longer and it will have to go to a storage facility. On Sep-29-14 at 13:55:43 PDT, seller added the following information: After much looking and scratching we found the engine number plainly stamped 7K1113267 and upside down stamped very faintly is KW 41 I didn't get a picture that turned out for the body tag, but the Paint is RR and under that is EXTS-2KR-3T-4F-5WK
