1957 Ford Fairlane Convertible. This car was built in the late 1960's/early 1970's (obvious by the paint job). It was parked in a barn in 1978 and didn't see daylight until recently. The car has a Ford FE engine. The heads and intake are 1967 428 Interceptor. I am not sure about the block (unable to read the numbers). The engine has not run in decades and I am not going to try, so assume that it is locked up. The transmission is a Borg Warner 4 speed. The shifter is stuck (luckily in neutral). According to locals, the car was a real screamer back in the day. The body on the car is rough but restorable. The car has factory power windows and power top. The doors still open and close (good sign on '50s convertibles). All convertible parts are still on the car. It still has the original top. The worst part of the outer body is the bottom of the driver side door. The frame is rusty but solid. The trunk floor is great. The floor pans were patched at one time. This car is a great nostalgia piece or restore it as an original. It will require a complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration. It rolls easily. It is a convertible, so the reserve will reflect it. The rear floors have had sheet metal patches pop riveted in place where your feet would go. The front floors have not been repaired and appear fairly solid. The center hump has been repaired to accommodate a floor shifter.
