1957 ARIEL SQUARE FOUR MK11OLDER RESTORATION, STILL EXCELLENT. NICE PATINA, READY TO ENJOY!! Very rare and beautiful, this MK11 is the last version of the 1000cc Square Four which ceased production in 1959. This is an amazing 1957 example that starts on the first kick and runs and shifts like butter. It was restored 10-12 years ago and has seen extremely little use since. Recently, the entire fuel system was cleaned, including new fuel lines, rebuilt fuel cocks, all new fiber washers throughout and a completely rebuilt correct SU MC2 carb. It does not leak a drop of fuel, ever. It sounds beautiful and does not smoke. The paint has remained perfect and only has a couple of small nicks, only visible on extremely close inspection and impossible to photograph. The chrome is generally still excellent, with a couple of pieces showing ever so slight freckling. Some of the small engine nut and bolts have small areas of chrome chipped. The pipes are still as new and perfect as can be seen in the photos. The decals are in perfect condition. The seat has been reupholstered in leather and has no wear whatsoever. Everything functions perfectly except the odometer. It shows zero miles (reset during restoration) and the true mileage since the restoration is probably less than 500. The speedo works well including the light inside. All the rest of the lighting works as it should including the brake light. The horn also works properly. The bike has been fitted with a 6 volt gel battery concealed in the original battery box. All of the cables and rubber on the bike is as new. Not photographed, but included with this Ariel is the original air cleaner and a professionally designed custom oil cooler. The tires look good and have excellent tread, however, they are older and cracks can bee seen on the sidewalls so I RECOMMEND FITTING NEW TIRES BEFORE PUTTING ANY MILES ON THE BIKE. The frame # is GM804, correct engine #NML912. There is a reasonable reserve on this auction. This rare motorcycle is not advertised elsewhere, and this auction is the exclusive opportunity to purchase it. Bid accordingly. As you know, the vintage motorcycle market is on fire right now, and bikes like this are skyrocketing in value. They're still too cheap and NOW is the time to buy. Thanks and good luck!
