1968 FORD F250 CAMPER SPECIAL. SOLID ORIGINAL TRUCK. ORIGINAL PAINT, ORIGINAL INTERIOR. 360 V8, 4 SPEED. Power brakes, HD Camper Special Suspension and factory dual fuel tanks. Drivetrain is stock except for exhaust headers with duals and breaker-less ignition (no points). Factory Manual Choke 2 barrel Carb. NO Power Steering. This truck Runs and Drives strong. Mechanical history however is unknown. The engine has normal oily residue with no significant leakage. No noticeable smoke when running. Exhaust is intact but a small section after the muffler on the drivers side is beginning to deteriorate and should be replaced. Brakes work good with no pulling but I have not made a thorough inspection of the brake system. It has been upgraded to later model 16" Ford Wheels (from original 16.5") and has decent matching set tires which are in fair condition. All of the gauges, most of the lights, heater fan, horn and wipers work. One key works for both ignition and door. Body has it's original paint from the factory except for the bumpers, grille and wheels which have been repainted in a nearly exact match of the original paint color. Being an original truck it does have some small dents, scratches, thin spots of paint, small patches of touch up paint, small screw holes from previously mounted accessories and some very,very light surface rust. The body is extremely rust free. The Windshield does have a crack and it should be replaced. Interior is fairly clean and original. Original seat does have some very slight wear on the driver side but is in usable shape. Dash Pad is original and crack free. Original Rubber floor mat has some tears in it and should be replaced. Aftermarket radio was fitted in the factory radio location using factory bezel surround. The radio is not working due to not having speakers. Also at some point the part of the metal dash had been repainted by a previous owner. Color match is close but not absolutely spot on. Its is noticeable if examined closely. Instrument cluster looks excellent. Headboard and door panels are original and in good condition. Due to the originality of the interior it has the scent of a 1960's ford car or truck which is unique only to original cars. This truck has a clean Oregon title in my name with current registration. This Truck is running and driving well but it is in original condition with an unknown mechanical history. I drove it home over 100 miles when I bought it 6 months ago and have driven it irregularly since. It currently does not have any obvious problems or show any signs of an impending mechanical breakdown. I would however recommend that this vehicle have a thorough inspection before being relied upon as a daily driver. Can it be driven it home 1000 miles or more? Possibly, if you are the adventurous type that enjoys the stresses and risks associated with driving an original 45 year car on a modern interstate. For the record I recommend shipping or trailering to be on the safe side. That being said.... this F250 is being sold in as is, where is condition with no warranty written, expressed or implied. Buyer to perform all due diligence before bidding. This is nice truck with plenty of life left. I bought it as a back up truck around the farm but I am selling a few of my vehicles to fund another project. This is not a perfect original truck but it is a clean, usable example of one of the best pickups ever made. With some care this truck will last a long time. I will not accept paypal for payment. I will accept only cash in hand at pickup or a cashiers check mailed in advance to allow time for funds to clear before vehicle is released. I can store the truck for up to a month to allow you time to workout shipping details. truck or title will not be released until funds have cleared. Once again, NO PAYPAL.
