Vehicle Detail
1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS 2dr. H/T. This car is powered by a factory 230ci. Straight 6 with a Manual 3sp. trans with shift on the column (yes, this is a real SS car .... in 1964 a straight 6 was the base motor .... check the VIN .... it will verify it). This car has factory bucket seats and factory rally gauges with a clock (no tach). This car needs a lot of work but it is a real SS car and it starts right up and drives around the yard. The brakes are bad so you can't drive it home but again it can be driven around the yard and onto a trailer. The car has a lot of rust on the bottom of it. All of the lower body panels need rust repair. The upper part of the body is pretty good. The rear window area is in good shape. The front window too is in good shape. There is a little rust in the 'C' pilars by the quarter windows. It needs lower floor boards and a trunk floor. It also has some frame rot on the right front frame rail (below the battery) and also in the rear around the gas tank area. This car was originally paint code 936 which is Ermine White and Trim Code 714 Black bucket seats. The hood is rusty but is still opens like it should. The gas tank is in the trunk and the car is now running off of a small tank under the hood next to the motor. The gas tank would have to put back in place to be street driven again. This would be an excellent project car for someone that wants a real SS Chevelle on a budget. You could fix the brakes and drive it the way that it is or tear it apart and put the body on a new repro frame or ??? The posibilities are endless. If you are in the area of Central Florida and are interested in this car I would suggest that you come and take a look at the car in person. The pictures make the car look good but like I said that needs a fair around of rust repair but it does run and drive in the yard (no brakes .... so no street driving).
