Vehicle Detail
Vintage 1969 Chevrolet P10 Step Van in original, unrestored condition. That being said, it does have various dings, dents, scratches, small holes, fading paint, evidence of prior body work and some light rust. The interior is Spartan and worn with scratches, dings, dents, small holes and some surface rust. Driver's side door glass has a small crack and the windshield has some haze around the edges. Odometer says 99k miles but true miles are unknown. The engine compartment is dirty and has some light oily residue. Original owners were said to be a farm here in the valley. However, this little van RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. Motor is chevy 250 straight 6 with a FULLY synchronized 3 speed manual column shift transmission. It runs very smooth and quiet. There is no visible smoke and it starts easy when cold. Brakes feel good and stops it well. Tires have decent tread but are older and have some light sidewall cracking. All of the instrumentation works as well as the lights. Only things that don't work are the heater/defrost fan and the horn. I have the original wipers arms for the van but they need new blades so I took them off for the pictures. The 2 speed wiper motor works well. It drives well for 45 year old work vehicle. Steering is a little sloppy but manageable. It cruises at 60-65 no problem and gets decent fuel economy for a 1960's step van as well. I have a clear title and it has current Oregon registration tags on it. These vans are based on a Chevy 1/2 ton pickup platform and they share nearly all mechanicals and suspension with them as well. No problems getting parts for a van like this unlike other step van producers of the 60's (IHC, willys, divco etc.) This van runs and drives good and has no obvious signs or indications of a major mechanical problem that would keep it from being driven home. I want to be clear that it is a 45 year old vehicle and the mechanical history is unknown. I've driven it about 200 miles total... including the initial drive home which was about 80 miles... and it drove good. I cant guarantee that it will or wont make it to your destination whether you're 15 or 1500 miles away. If you're the brave type who likes the stress and adventure of driving something like this on a long trip home then that's your business and shoot... it'll probably make it... but if not I'd recommend a trailering it to be safe. Please be reminded that the van is being sold as-is, where-is with no warrantee or guarantee expressed or implied. Payment and Pickup: Payment within 7 days of auction close. I will not accept paypal... I don't care what ebay says... if you send payment via paypal I will refund your money. Once again, NO paypal. I will accept cash in hand on pickup or bank money transfer prior to pickup. I will need verified funds in my possession before I release the car or title. Please figure this out before you plan your pick up. I'll work with you and the car will be stored safe, under cover safe until you can figure the details out. I can store the van for up to 30 days after the auction closes if that will help you but it must be paid for after 7 day as mentioned above. If you need more pics contact me through ebay with your phone number and I can send them to your smart device. Thanks, good luck!!!
