Vehicle Detail
Offered for your consideration is this 1967 Triumph T120R Bonneville. This unrestored example is an original stock Southern California bike being sold with a clear title and current registration. Frame and Engine Numbers match. Original Aubergine and White factory paint survives albeit faded, still has a trace of the Speed Record Holder and Made In England Decals once were adjacent to the tank cap. 40K Miles are on the Speedometer, actual mileage is unknown, both gauges need to be rebuilt. Original clean Dunlop Rims, the rear is laced with stainless spokes. Engine is in good running condition with no unusual noises. Starts first kick and idles, drips a bit of oil here and there nothing unusual for a 47 year old machine. Updated at some time with Concentric Carburetors, the original Monobloc Carbs will be included in the sale. I am unaware of engine work performed although it appears to have have at least a top end at some time. Gas Tank is good shape with all original trim as well as being clean inside, there are a couple of repairs to the under side at the mounts. Stainless Fenders are both very nice, no dents or cracks. Side Stand lug is still attached, center stand works great albeit slightly tweaked. A very nice still stock motorcycle, all original hardware throughout. Updated to with electronic ignition and a voltage control box, the previous owner bypassed the switch in the side panel for a toggle switch mounted in front of the battery tray. Tires are great, Dunlop K70 400-18 and 350-19 front. All original hardware throughout. Fork action is good as is the Swing Arm. Clutch works well with no slipping under load. Brakes work well although the front cable is stretched and could use being replaced, the linings look new. Lucas Head and Tail lights are working as is the Horn. Seat offers a very nice profile and provides good comfort, cover appears to be a replacement. All chrome on the bike shines brightly, exhaust pipes have corrosion. Mufflers are nice and provide a splendid exhaust note. The only obvious damage that I can see is at one time it threw a drive chain resulting in some case damage, a common problem on Triumph Unit Twins. An easy repair when the engine is apart for overhaul, the hole caused by the damage has no effect to the running of the bike, it is simply in an area over the drive chain, the damage has had a temporary fix of epoxy. Overall the motorcycle presents itself very nicely, avery cool machine which is currently registered, a classic which has been in constant use. I have only tested the bike on a short ride but it rides as well if not better than it should considering it's original unrestored condition and age. Please take the time to study the pictures below as these show the bike very clearly. Please email with any questions that you have.
