Vehicle Detail

1980 Pontiac Trans Am (Ex-Pace Car) Please Read Complete Description So You Know What You are buying ! This Car was In a heated building and covered storage for 4 years. Is it’s Time to go. I purchased the PACE CAR with the vehicle already altered, wrong hood, wrong engine, heater box delete and a rewired engine compartment. I built up a Custom 355cid - 4 bolt Main Chevrolet Motor (Specs Below) - I built up a 700R4 Auto Trans (Lowest 1st gear GM made) - Change rear end gearing to a 3.73 gearing for the Factory Posi 10 Bolt Rear End. In Storage, the car was tapped in the front and the rear, spidering the paint. The shaker hood scoop has been riveted to the hood to eliminate the shaker cowl foam padding. This makes room for the High RISE intake Manifold Air cleaner assembly to rest inside scoop. The custom K&N filter works perfectly for this application as it breaths out the top and sides of it. The hood has a small rust patch (FR) which should be easily repairable. This body is extremely workable to make perfect. Floor pans are perfect and had the "POR" product on the inside floors with new rugs at one time. Rugs are soiled and need cleaning. Drivers door handle has a small usage crack so you have to be careful when opening the drivers door, basically needs the outside handle. This car has the proper Pace Car Wheels on it (Turbo Wheels). Some of the pace car accent stripping is peeling off. Interior is basically intact but has no radio or dash filler. Most gauge work. I put in a remote Temp gauge as that does not.. Gas gauge is accurate and the speedometer has been geared properly for the new gearing for the rear end. The car will have no door inner door panels. May need lock switches and various parts to install into replacement panels. I do have the arm rests and various other door panel components left over. This has a great operating Hurst Dual Gate Shifter, It does need adjustment. Dash Pad has some cracks from the sun. Exhaust is a Header to Flowmaster system for TRANS AM application and tends to be a little loud when getting on it :), tail pipes need adjustment as they hit underneath. Frame has Sub-Frame connectors welded on, Rear End has Traction bars (Torque Bars) with adjusters. Adjusters have been removed for better drivability on the street. It has a Huge Four Core Radiator with Large electric fan / All Drive Pulleys are set up and operate with a serpentine Belt. This engine kept on blowing off "V" belts so I had no choice. This operates well on a 10” 3000 Stahl stahl converter. Has a custom Driveshaft that has been sized and balanced for the application. Rear End : 3:73 Posi-Track This is where I cheaped out a little with just a slip and slide set of gears and bearings. Does make a little noise but is tight and with no looseness. Posi-Engages properly EVERY TIME. Car has Brand New Street Cooper Cobra White Lettered Tires LARGER PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE ON CLICK, AFTER CLICKING SCROLL UP TO VIEW Small Print Federal law requires that the mileage of a motor vehicle be stated upon transfer of ownership.
