Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1970 Dodge Challenger rolling body without a motor or transmission. It started out life as a 6 cyl, auto. It has an 8-3/4" rearend from an R/T of the same year. The front spindles have been changed from drums to discs using 1976 A-body spindles and calipers. The rotors are rusty and not usable as I just put them on to move it around. A lot of the front suspension bushings have been changed out with new ones. Ball joints are all new. The V-8 K-member with power steering box was taken out of the donor R/T car and cleaned and painted gloss black and swapped in place of the 6 cyl. K member. The linkage, tie-rod ends, have not been changed out yet. The steering column is out of the car as it was treated to a new turn signal set-up and recently painted and have not had time to install again. ( a couple of bolts and a roll pin will get it back in) The intereior of the car is shot as shown in picture. The dash is mostly disassembled and was being taken out to set an air conditioning unit (from the same year R/T) in place to finish drilling a few holes to mount it later. The front floorboards have rust (more in the drivers side) and the trunk has been patched in the past but still would need to be replaced to make it right. I have the Grille and only one of the headlight bezel. Have most of the inside plastic panels, some may be faded chipped, etc. Glass is all good with some fading on the front windshield. The other windows have been replaced with factory tinted glass except for the drivers side which is included. The body is in pretty good shape with a few dings and small rust spots which can be fixed. Has the power bulge hood with a couple of dings in it. The underhood area has been cleaned, sanded, primed, almost ready for paint. Any V-8 (318-440) would be a good swap into the Challenger as the K-member was set up for use with a small or big block. This was what I was planning before losing storage of my vehicles. Have a clear title also. This is a good project car with a lot of the hard work done already and is being sold As-Is. NOTE--Winning bidder to pick-up car at location. Sorry, I cannot deliver. Serious bidders only! On Jun-21-13 at 16:53:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Note--the Fury in the last 2 pictures are not included in this auction. It is in a seperate auction. This auction is for the 1970 Challenger Body only.On Jun-22-13 at 04:34:29 PDT, seller added the following information: CASH PAYMENT ONLY AT TIME OF PICK-UP. NO CASHIERS CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS--HAVE BEEN BURNED BEFORE ON THESE!On Jun-22-13 at 04:41:24 PDT, seller added the following information: THE FURY IN THE LAST 2 PHOTOS IS IN A SEPERATE AD AND IS NOT INCLUDED!On Jun-22-13 at 10:57:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, I forgot to mention that the ignition key switch has been replaced with a new one with 2 keys. Have the original starter key and trunk key which works. The floor console is loose but included as I had to move things out of the way to fit the underdash A/C for trial fit before finish drilling holes in firewall which of course never got to finish. On Jun-22-13 at 19:58:19 PDT, seller added the following information: This car was originally from California according to the paperwork and rear license plate surround which accidentally got broken. -- I also have the piece of metal that goe up underneath the rear bumper - valance? On Jun-23-13 at 10:37:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Oh yeah-I also have a brand new battery tray for it, not yet installed. I didn't mention it in the ad but I have a power brake booster that came off the R/t that will be included. Also another thing I missed - the windshield chrome on the passenger upper side has a dent in it, was like that when I bought the car years ago-will probably have to be replaced.
