Vehicle Detail
1975 Honda XL250 1388 Original Miles, Runs/Rides Great. The Honda XL250 was introduced in 1972 and ushered in a new era of four stroke dual purpose machines. The XL250 was a great bike then, and is a very usable collectible today. It sports a 5 speed gearbox and around 20hp. This 1975 example was recently purchased from the original owner and has covered just 1388 miles. \ It is extremely original, still wearing its original paint, seat upholstery, tires, etc. and even has its original blue and yellow California license plate. Here is the frame number. Engine number. And the mileage. The engine fires right up and runs strong. The carb has been rebuilt and the rest of the fuel system gone through. The gearbox, brakes and clutch are all functioning beautifully. The exhaust is in excellent shape, with no rust or weak spots. The tank is in excellent shape, except there is a very small ding, just above the "A" in HONDA. There is no fading whatsoever in the paint. The gas tank is rust free inside and has never been lined or "creamed", it is just bare metal as it should be. The original seat cover has small tear as shown, but is excellent otherwise. The original Nitto tires are still on the bike. They should be changed before any serious miles are put on the bike. Here is the front. And the rear. The rims are original and perfectly straight with no dings. Some of the spokes have some rust discoloration, and could be cleaned a bit more. Everything on the bike works, including all the electricals. All of the wiring is original with the exception of the two leads off the battery. Both fenders are nice and straight with some surface scratches. The chrome is nice and shiny, but shows some specs and age. An original matching numbered key comes with the bike. The chrome on the taillight assembly shows some light discoloration from rust. It has signs of off-road use (scratched engine cover and bent clutch lever), but is perfectly straight. Handlebars, forks, and frame are all perfectly aligned and have never been damaged. The fork seals are starting to leak, and will need replacing in the near future. The suspension and brakes are excellent. The only thing missing on the bike is the battery hold down. A brand new Yuasa battery is installed. There are no broken fins or damage anywhere on the mechanicals. It is clean and ready to enjoy. Here are some more photos of this beautiful enduro.... The motorcycle comes with the original California title, matching the original blue plates. It was last registered in 1981. This is a great opportunity to purchase a wonderful original vintage bike, ready to enjoy for years to come. It is extremely rare to find them in this original low mileage condition, so you gotta jump on this one. There is a modest reserve on this auction!
