Vehicle Detail
This 1941 Studebaker president was found inside a storage unit where it had been tucked away for about 20 years. Although the car needs some tender loving care, it is an excellent starting point for a relatively easy restoration. The car is complete except for one or two trim pieces which should be easy to come by, and overall the body and the interior are in good shape. The paint still looks decent, although I suspect it has been repainted at some point. Please note the owner of the storage unit inadvertently titled the car as a 1946, which is impossible as Studebaker didn’t make a 1946 President (simply Google 1941 Studebaker President, and you’ll be convinced this can only be a 1941). The VIN is correct, so the title can be corrected when getting a new title for the car. Since the car was pulled from storage, I have done the following:Pulled the gas tank, which has now been cleaned, coated, and reinstalledPut on a freshly re-built and correct carburetor (the previous owner had the wrong carb)All new fluids, much new wiring, including new plug wires, points, etc. New brakesThe car now runs and drives. The President line was discontinued in 1942 (not reappearing until 1955 in a much different form), making this a sought after vehicle. The car features: 250 cid straight 8 engine 3 speed with OD Transmission (I have not verified whether the OD is working) The more attractive (in my opinion) 2 window body style 53079 Miles on odometer The driver's side seat has some damage to it, but the rest of the car looks remarkably clean. I have taken many photos of the inside, outside, and even underneath so you can see exactly what it looks like. The opening bid is very low with no reserve, so it will be an absolute auction and will sell to the high bidder. I have other cars competing with this one for restoration, so this one has to go.
