Here at auction is a very nice original 1948 Lincoln Continental V12 convertible. The car came from the midwest and has always been in a salt free dry environment. I have been helping the owner sell some of his cars that he no longer can enjoy due to his age and health. I will be glad to get any information you want from him.The car is located in Livonia NY , 30 miles south of Rochester NY . Here is what I know about the car; The car looks straight,and free of any rust damage. The underside of the car is very clean .The car appears to be complete except for the keys. They were lost while car was in storage.There has been a toggle switch mounted under the dash where the operator can easily reach to start and stop the engine.Under the hood the car is very clean and complete. The engine starts almost instantly like any good Ford flathead does. The engine is quiet and runs smooth. The interior is a combination or original door panels and replaced leather seats . The carpets are in good condition. The interior is good for a driver ,but not show quality.The top material on the car was damaged while in storage so I removed it completly .The original rear window and the door window seals are present and included in the sale (see last picture)The chrome and paint on the dash is presentible. All the glass is good . The exterior of the car is painted a dark wine color and was done many years ago. It has lots of shine and was a good job when done. The body moldings ,bumpers and stone guards are all straight and good condition.The tires , hubcaps,and beauty rings all match and are in excellant condition. The exhaust is quiet. The brakes were down until I added fluid and I now have a pedal. The floors ,trunk and rockers are all rock hard steel. This car appears to have had a easy life and it doesnt appear to have ever been apart..... These Lincoln Cotinental TWELVE CYLINDER convertibles were one of the most expencive Amercan automobile that could be bought in 1948. Few good examples have survived that arent completly restored ($80,000 plus range ) or rusted out hulks. Here is a car that is priced to sell and can be enjoyed now. The new owner can improve the car with new top material and a doll up for not a lot of money.The car starts instantly,runs smooth and drives great!!
