Vehicle Detail
This is a major project. It is a 1937 Chevrolet cab that is sitting on a 1949 Chevy 1/2 ton frame. It has a NICE 1935/36 grille that I paid a fortune for on Ebay just a few months ago. The bed is a 1947 Chevy RUST free bed that was cut down about 14". The hood is the original 1937 hood, but it will come with a set of 1936 truck hood sides that fill in the sides much better. The front axle is a 1953 Chevrolet 1/2 ton axle with a brand new in the box 5lug disc brake kit. Comes with calipers and hoses. The axle has new king pins . The wheels are modern 16"wheels with new 7.00x16" rear tires and used (bald)6.00x 16" front tires. The wheels also have dual Chevy/Ford bolt patterns. The wheels will not come with the beauty rings, but I do have a complete set of hubcaps that will come with the truck. The front axle has a brand new set of Posies 3" lowering springs and shackles. The rear axle is out of a 1960's Ford with a 2.80 to 1 ratio that has been completely rebuilt, including bearings and brakes. I think it is an 8" axle. The rear springs are NOS 1955 Chevy first series truck springs. None of the body is bolted to the frame, but I will make sure that it is bolted down to make transportation easier for you. The cab has rust along the bottom rear of cab due to rat urine and a few tiny holes in the doors. There is a tiny pinhole near the back window. The floor section is very solid. The floor boards are missing. The doors open and close with ease. The windshield glass is junk, but the frame isn't rotted out and the crank still works! The window regulators are in the doors, but there is no glass. The rain gutters are gone. Most Chevrolet trucks look pretty stupid with the fenders off because the radiators sit so far in front of the axle. I moved this entire body back farther on the frame to make the front end look more " Ford " like in appearance. The rear end really needs some lowering blocks or just cut down the spring perches to make the truck sit more level. I have a 2011 Texas title--not in my name. I never transferred it over. I have well over $4500 in it already. Reserve is set MUCH lower than that at $2100 Feel free to give me a call. That is the best way to reach me because I work A LOT and I am often on the road. (713) 817-8997 Jason Barnett. It is listed locally as well, and if sold locally, the auction will end unless it has met my reserve price on here. If it reaches my reserve price, then it will no longer be for sale locally.
