Vehicle Detail

About Me 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger San Jose, CA 95110 Time in San Jose Vehicle Details Year: 1972 Make: Dodge Model: Swinger Mileage: 170,000 Transmission: Automatic Engine: 318 Exterior Color:White Interior Color: Green Title: Clear Description This particular 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger was purchased new from Butler-Conti Dodge, a small family owned dealership in business from 1951 through 2007 in Lafayette California. It was a daily driver for the previous owner's mother. In the late 70's, it was handed down to her eldest son who started it's transformation into a Street Machine. The original 318 was pulled and a succession of various small block Mopar engines were installed over the years. The air conditioning compressor and under hood plumbing was removed at this time. It's currently running a very mild 318 with an aluminum manifold, AFB carb, and breakerless ignition. The headers have been removed and it's been converted back to the original style cast iron manifolds. It has a pleasing sound without being too loud. The wheels are vintage Centerlines. 15 X 4 in front, and 15 X 8 in the rear. All with the hard to find original center caps (C-20). The rear fender lips had been rolled under to clear the L60's it used to run. In the trunk you'll find the original spare wheel and jack in place. It's spent all of it's life in and around the North Bay Area and is virtually rust free. No holes or bubbles anywhere. It still has all its original body panels, and the radiator support and fender wells show no signs of damage or collision repair. The panel fitment is very good and the doors close solidly. There has been only one repaint over the original Dover White finish and it’s a very nice driver quality paint job that’s still smooth and shiny. There have been some parking lot dents and dings repaired, and there are still some imperfections in the front and rear valance panels below the bumpers, but there has never been any rust repair. The bumpers and chrome trim are original to the car and do have some dings and scratches. There are some pits in the windshield from road dirt and two small rock chips or BB marks. The interior door panels and headliner are in original condition, however the seats had been recovered at some point in the past. It could use a new set of carpets as these are worn and stained. The dash looks nice and is not cut or modified. All the gauges and lights are in operating condition and the wipers and heater do work (The air condition system is incomplete and it does not function). All the exterior lamps, including the turn signal indicators on the tops of the front fenders are in working order, too. It has a California title and is currently registered.
