1957 Ford Thunderbird Port Hole Hard Top - REAL NICE SOLID PROJECT T-BIRD! Mom’s dream up for sale, Bought in 1987 as an anniversary present by our Father for our Mother this 57 t-bird has been patiently waiting to hit the road again. Showing just over 91k miles on the odometer the 312-4v 245HP engine was rebuilt and detailed 15years ago and has zero miles, ready to accept today’s gasoline. We have receipts for the rebuild over $2500 for rebuild kit and professional assembly. The Original Radiator has been recorded. It has been Oil primed and hand turned on a regular basis. Trim Tag break down SERIAL # D7FH107556 (D=312 4v, 7= Year 57, F=Dearborn, H=Thunderbird, 107556 unit# ) Color QE= Bronze Trim XK=white Production code 26J1300376 This project began with the same mechanical enthusiasm many cars enjoy. Then the typical financial and health issues side lined the car. This mostly original 50+ year old classic Baby Bird is one of a few built during the most desirable year of 1957. You can see by the pictures it is in extremely good shape with solid straight frame, clean trunk, and minimal rust in fenders and quarters. This car has had some minor body work repair in the past, but no evidence of damage from any accident is known, it was paint touched up to match its factory Bronze by a previous owner. During disassembly, components were boxed and shelved and to the best of our knowledge all components should be accounted for. This includes the glass fuel bowl, brake air assist, generator, starter, carburetor and the flaps and ducting for the heater, all factory trim plus some new replacements. When this car came to us, it was as far as we know 100% complete, in dry storage for 15 years at the time we purchased it in 1987, dry storage since then to this date, therefore this particular Thunderbird having spent almost 3/4 of it’s life waiting for it’s reincarnation back to the road! If there is one T-bird worthy of a restoration project to bring it back to life this is the one. You are welcome to view this in person before bidding. Just e-mail to set a time. Replacement of the floor was started when the project went on hiatus, this itself would appear to be the biggest obstacle but not one at all with a new rocker and floor is included to install, only time and knowledge is needed. The project was started thinking it had to be right so even though the floor was minimally damaged it was removed none the less. This is not a perfect car, it is however a perfect project for even a beginner restorer. We are still not sure we want to part with this magnificent piece of FORD History but we are willing to give you the opportunity to talk us into it. Vehicle Title is in Hand! Please e-mail with any questions.
