Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1956 Chevrolet 383 Stroker Powered 210 2 door. Nothing is quite as nostalgic as the Tri-Five 55/56/57 Chevy and here is an opportunity to own an excellent example of that era. This one captures the perfect balance between SHOW and GO... THE SHOW: The first thing to note is the fit on the body panels of this car. Meticulous attention was taken on the bodywork before the baby blue paint was applied to the all steel body. This is an older paint job, but still shines and shows really well. There are a few minor road-associated blemishes from normal driving. The front bumper and grill are new. The rest of the chrome trim and back bumper are in good to excellent condition, as are all the emblems. Under carriage and frame are in good, clean condition with the front end rebuilt utilizing lowered drop spindles. Engine compartment has been painted and detailed. Interior is in immaculate condition~tastefully reupholstered with door panel matching split-back front bench seat and rear bench, clad in mixture of white leather and grey tweed-like cloth. New black carpet covers the floor. Dash is in excellent condition with a mixture of aftermarket gauges (water temp/oil pressure/charging/fuel pressure) complementing original instrument cluster. All in good working condition, although speedometer needs to be re calibrated to the transmission. A Sun Supertach II is professionally installed on the dash in full view of the driver. Chrome Ididit tilt steering column with an aftermarket chrome and leather wrapped steering wheel handle the steering while a floor mounted B&M Quick Shifter take care of shifting the automatic Turbo 400 transmission. Dash mounted Kenwood stereo looks natural and does not detract from the classic lines of the original dash. Glass is in good condition with the exception of the passenger wing window-small crack-all rubber and weatherstripping have been replaced. The trunk has been finished in a leather-like material and has carpeted floor. As fantastic as this interior looks in pictures, in person it impresses even more! THE GO: 450 Horsepower, Dynotuned Smeding Performance built 383 Extreme crate engine utilizing all new parts. *New GM 4-bolt main one piece main seal block *Forged steel 3.800" stroke crank-micro polished and chamfered, nitride surface treatment *High grade forged 5.7" steel rods with bronze pin bushings *Fitted high silicon hypereutectic pistons-graphite coated skirts with full floating wrist pins *Moly-faced rings with light tension 3 piece oil *Performer aluminum heads 2.02"/1.60" Stainless steel valves-64cc chambers 170cc intake ports. Port matched *Custom-ground hydraulic roller camshaft, heat-treated lobes, .510" intake/.521" exhaust lift, split duration 231 intake/ 236 exhaust @ .050" *1.5:1 ratio full roller rockers *Polished RPM Air Gap dual plane manifold topped off with Demon 750 cfm vacuum secondary custom calibrated by Barry Grant Engine was Dyno-tuned by Smeding and put out 450 hp @ 5400 rpm and 492 ft/lbs torq @ 4200 rpm. A real beast that pins you to your seat! Motor has less than 1000 miles on install and sounds wicked thru the ceramic coated block hugger headers that flow in 2 1/2" pipes to the Flowmaster mufflers. 2 1/2" exhaust pipe to chrome tips finish out in the rear of the car. MSD electronic ignition fires off the 91 octane fuel mixture (pump gas). Transmission is a high performance, Turbo-400 that's completely rebuilt and sends all the power back to a 10" posi unit utilizing a bullet proof Eaton locker. Chrome American Eagle rims with Cooper Radials (205/60/15 front 225/70/15 rear) get the power to the pavement. All new aluminum radiator with electric fan give cooling while the Billit Serpentine belt system spin the all chrome accessories that include Power Steering and a Concept One a/c condenser unit (a/c is not plumbed yet). Under hood visuals match all other areas of this car~incredible attention to detail. Lots of receipts. This award winning car has the brutality to tear it up at the drag strip and yet the beauty and elegance to hold its own at the car show. You will not be disappointed! If you are serious about this quality piece, don’t hesitate to call me, Dan, personally and ask questions. Over ten years on eBay, you can count on being satisfied. My number is 209-836-8958 and that is the best way to reach me at this time of year. Thanks Again and Good Luck. Your browser does not support JavaScript.
