Vehicle Detail
1971 Dodge Charger This vehicle is not original. It was taken apart and restored 2 months ago, and has been driven around 500 miles. The motor is a Dodge 360 from a mid 70’s truck. The mileage is unknown, but the previous owner stated it to be around 30,000. The automatic transmit ion has been rebuilt and has roughly 1500 miles on it. The motor was removed 500 miles back, all gaskets were replaced, motor and trans steam cleaned and painted, and all upper end bolt on parts were replaced. Runs well but does have minor smoke from exhaust until gets warmed up. Has new Edelbrock Performer Intake, Valve Covers, Air Cleaner, and billet water neck, rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and starter. The exhaust is new 2 ½” with new headers and flow master mufflers. The radiator was pressure tested and flushed, and all the hoses are new. New battery and cables. The power brakes are new all the way around with new hoses and master cyl. , and the power steering works great. The car was an original A/C car, but it has all been removed. The body was stripped down to bare metal, and all the dents and dings were repaired. The vehicle had no signs of any major accidents, and the outer sheet metal was free of rust. We basically fixed the 40 years worth of normal dings and parking lot damage. We wanted to give the car a stealth look, so we painted everything DuPont Hot Hues Hotrod Black. It’s more of a semi gloss black instead of the traditional flat black. Semi gloss looks better and holds up to weather better than flat. The stripes are done in lime green vinyl, and the theme is a cross between the old chargers and the modern day ones. The interior is in good shape. The dash is all original with a JVC CD Player. The seats have been dyed in black vinyl, and all the original trim panels have been removed and dyed black. All the windows including the windshield have been tinted. Carpet appears to be old, and the headliner could use some fixing up, but all in all in good shape. Suspension seams to be tight. The front looks to be lowered 2” and the rear 3”. The wheels are new 18” Foose Nitrous Legends with stainless steel Foose lug nuts. The tires are new Goodyear Eagle GT with 245/45/18 in the rear and 225/45/18 in the front. The bottom appears to be good, but the previous owner had just undercoated and blacked everything out so its hard to tell for sure. Nothing appears to be rusted through. The trunk is freshly painted and has been covered with sound deadener and carpet. The inner wheel houses are exposed and are clean with no rust. Cars runs and drives good- would make a fun summer car!!!! Any questions feel free to call Chris at 618-406-2818
