Vehicle Detail
1974 Jaguar XKE E Type Roadster Convertible Super Low Miles I am pleased to be able to offer this 1974 Jaguar XKE E Type Roadster. If there was ever an aggressively priced car - this is it!! This beauty features a manual gearbox (no wimpy automatics here). This is the last year that this gorgeous model was manufactured. Enzo Ferrari himself exclaimed that the E-Type was the most beautiful road car of the time. The VIN is UE1S25809.This is a matching number vehicle and it is being offered by the only the second owner since new. Current owner purchased it 2 years ago from the original owner. The vehicle has only 23,874 original miles! According to the owner:"I am a European classic car restorer; I buy what I fall in love with and then restore it to perfection and keep it. Unfortunately, my collection is getting too large and I shall now concentrate on Italian cars. Unfortunately for me, this XKE and a few other vehicles (1974 TVR, 1972 Porsche 911T) must be sold to make room.I spent 2 years working slowly on this jewel. I purchased a thoroughly rust-free and strong vehicle and decided to spare no money to restore it to as close as possible to new condition."Whether it was required or not, I changed many parts which include:• New aluminum radiator by Griffin• New water pump• New brakes• New rubber hoses and fan belts• New stainless exhaust pipes and muffler set, as original• New steering joints• New fuel pump• New water pump• New steering pump• New oil pump• Rebuilt steering rack• Carburetors rebuilt• New rubber around windows and doors as well as front bonnet and trunk• New windshield (the original one had a very minor wiper scratch in the lower corner)• Chrome, chrome, chrome—all the bumpers were rechromed as new and all chrome accessories on the exterior were bought new• New alternator• New radio, CD with UBS connector for an Ipod etc.The wire wheels are excellent and well balanced. The tires are the original Dunlop SP’s with whitewalls. If I was to use the car for more that small trips I would replace the tires because there are cracks due to age. There is plenty thread left. The only thing that I would like to add is a wooden steering wheel. The body was originally painted a dull grey. The car was disassembled and repainted red. The interior was black and I preferred to have it reupholstered in medium tone of tan with genuine Italian leather. The door panels are in vinyl light tan. The carpets were replaced with a high quality weave in a matching light tan color. The convertible roof was not yet done; I will have it completely done in the color that the buyer chooses. The Jaguar dashes are all black and some owner may prefer a black top while another may prefer one in a tan shade. The lights and all the lenses are in perfect condition. All electrics work including the clock! The vehicle has a hard top painted red as the whole vehicle. This top alone is very hard to find and the price reflects this. The motor runs VERY smoothly and responds perfectly. There are absolutely no issues with it. The transmission shifts easily without a hint of hesitation to enter into any gear. Of course, the mileage is VERY low on such a strong combination of transmission and engine. I am relying on the pictures and details provided to me by the seller. I can tell based on numerous conversations that this car has been well maintained, nicely restored and well loved. The owner invites and encourages any interested party to inspect this car in Montreal, Canada and determine for yourself that this car is truly in excellent condition. Seeing is really believing.
