This friendly '53 Chevy sedan is just what the doctor ordered. It's a California car and is virtually rust free, and other than being converted to 12 volts, it's never been modified. It's still running the 235 six with a 3 speed stick on the column. The engine has a lot of miles but still runs well. The transmission shifts without any problems. Some of the recent maintenance includes: New water pump New fuel pump New brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware kits New reproduction steel gas tank The rear axle appears to be from a car that was equipped with an automatic transmission, so the gears are very long legged. You won't be winning many drag races with it. I have driven it a little around town, but It's not ready to make any road trips yet. The body is good for a car that's almost 60 years old. There are some spots of prior repair (some filler in the trunk lid and driver's side quarter panel (from parking lot fender benders, not rust). Drive it as-is, or do a complete restoration. The interior is presentable, although a little dated. Check out the 70's style headliner, and tape deck. The chrome was worn, and at some point was painted over. It doesn't look bad like that, but the car would really shine with re plated bumpers and grill.
