Vehicle Detail

Very nice example. Runs great! Makes all the right sounds. Very fun to ride and fast too! starts right up, kick or electric. All stock except front brake lines changed to braided steel, and a modern O-ring chain has been installed. The paint color is not a stock color, but it looks terrific! A sapphire blue auto paint. I restored this bike myself about 10 years ago while I was working at a dealership as a motorcycle mechanic. It was taken completely apart, the frame and swingarm sandblasted and powdercoated black. New custom bronze swingarm bushings were used, as well as a new tapered roller steering head bearing set for a solid foundation. NEW fork tubes from Forking by Frank were used, and of course new seals. The brakes were completely overhauled with all new soft parts. Some NOS parts were used, including the radiator guard. Due to condition and low mileage, (24K when I bought it), the engine was left alone except for tune-up parts, new clutch plates and all outer seals, such as kick shaft, countershaft and shift shaft. Compression is good at 145 on all three cylinders. Seat was re-upholstered following stock pattern. Bodywork was primed, block-sanded and painted- it is nearly flawless. Tank is good inside. Gascap was re-chromed. I found and installed the rare optional 'cooling fan' that was only installed on models sold in hot climates, it works fine. New stock sprockets along with the O-ring chain were used. Carbs of course were rebuilt. I did this bike RIGHT, planning to keep it forever. Too many details to list or remember. I re-packed the silencers, replaced all the bulbs, even bought a NOS tool kit and had a cool custom license plate frame made. I put a couple thousand miles on it over the years, it was mostly just sitting garaged. I would drain the carbs, fill the tank and take out the battery, cover her up for long periods, just pulling it out for special nice day rides. It rides fine, but could use new tires due to age, rear one is almost down to the wear bars. In hindsight I should have re-spoked the wheels, as now the spokes are rusty. Buchanans in LA can make a nice set of stainless spokes pretty reasonable, the rims are OK. Do the wheels and some cleaning and this bike would be a stunner. I get comments all the time now wherever I go. Oh, it does have a nickel-size dent in the front fender, a few years ago I dropped a fishing reel on it while it was garaged.. I cursed a blue streak! I will assist with shipping, I can deliver (ride) the bike locally in San Diego area to a freight company if needed.Hate to sell, but moving out of state. Pink slip in hand with non-op CA registration. Please email any other questions. I'll be happy to reply. Thanks & Good Luck! PS- A couple people have inquired- YES- it's in fine running condition, it can be ridden away anytime. Yes- I know some of the hardware shows corrosion. It was stored in a garage that wasn't the driest place it could be. But the bike is NOT weathered, it has never spent the night outside since restoration. When I restored it, I only wire-brushed and clear-coated the hardware, none of the head bolts and such were disturbed or messed with or replaced with non-original hardware. Easy fix to replace one-by-one. PSS- I removed the reserve- high bidder wins my cool vintage bike. thanks
