Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE LISTING You are bidding on a nice, semi restored '63 pull handle. This was the 291st MGB built having been completed 8/2/62 per British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate. It has approximately 85K miles (speedo occasionally sticks so milage not completely accurate). It has the original three bearing engine with twin SU's and three syncro, four speed tranny. A major rebuild (but not frame off) was completed in 2005. Originally painted Iris Blue, it was repainted Old English White (except engine compartment) during the rebuild. Paint used was Emron which was the top of the line aircraft paint 20 years ago. Unknown to me at the time was that the paint was not suited for auto paint due to it's brittleness. Paint is starting to flake and the car will have to be repainted in the future. Pics are of the worst spots. The car has been driven less than 2K miles since rebuild. Newer tires (less than 500 miles), new top, newer battery, overnight (drip) battery charger, brake & fuel lines. All new seats, carpets, steering wheel, and interior side paneling (including new wood door panel backing) were installed at time of rebuild. Also done during rebuild: new steering, new hydraulics, shock system, gas tank cleaned, and driver side rocker panel, dogleg, & floor pan all replaced. Replaced fuel line from firewall to carburetors with woven flex lines. The glass on the car is good and the windows all work. The body is very straight and the panel gaps are good. Lights, wipers, turn signals, speedo (with the exception of occasional sticking), tach, and heater all work. Things that need fixing: The doors have the usual MGB crack in them, the worst is shown in the pictures. There is a very small dent in the middle of the driver side rear fender (I allowed a "looker" to drive the car). The front MG emblem is missing. The paint. The wire wheels need to be re-chromed (pic is the worst one). The radio doesn't work (may just be a fuse - it stopped working after I accidently reversed the polarity while installing the battery). There is a noticable shimmy going through 65-70 MPH that seems to dissapate at 75 (I've never exceeded 75, so after that?? I believe you could set it on 55-60 MPH and drive all day). The vent window rubber seals need replacing (dry rot). The SU's could use a tune-up, but the points, etc. seem to be fine. Overall this is a very complete car that runs strong and is fun to drive or it can easily be restored to show car condition. It has a current GA tag and a clean title. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I have some pics of the rebuild and other documentation. I would recommend and encourage viewing the car if at all possible. Please email me for an appointment to see. TERMS To save us both time and grief, PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY AND/OR ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT BUYING - JOYRIDERS AND TIREKICKERS ARE NOT WELCOME. Due to the high number of non-paying bidders with little or no feedback, any bids with less than 5 feedbacks, or a feedback score of less than 98% will be either cancelled or ignored unless prior approval is obtained from the seller. Winning Bidder is responsible for pickup. No shipping arrangements will be made although we will hold the car for thirty days to allow the winner to make pickup arrangements. $500 Paypal Deposit from the winning bidder is due within 24 hours after auction end with balance due within seven days. The winner will receive a non-payment strike if the deposit is not made within 24 hours and a second chance offer may be made to the next highest bidder. If deposit is made but balance is not paid within seven days after auction end, the car may be relisted and the deposit will be non-refundable. Payment of the final balance must be with cash (in person only - do NOT send cash through the mail), or certified check/money order drawn on a National US Bank or Georgia bank with a local office in Fayetteville, GA. Please ask if you have a question of if there is something I missed in the description. I am trying to give the best description I can but I may have missed something. Additional pics available to those seriously interested in purchasing this auto. Please message me your name, and personal email address. PLEASE NOTE: eBay deleted my previous listing because I mentioned a commonly used bank to bank transfer might be acceptable (unbeknowst to me this is against eBay policy) and also that I would accept cash without also stating it must be in person (which I thought would be a given because I give people on this sight credit for knowing better). I do not know why they did not contact me first and give me a chance to correct this problem before they deleted the listing. I apologize if I have/had offended anyone's sensibilities. My apologies also to anyone that had this on their watch list.
