Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on truly one of the wildest nova wagons on the planet! The car started out as a real v8 car that lived all it's life in the high desert of California. Car is all original paint, and interior(only carpet and seat covers were changed years ago)Even has the original T3 headlights!! I purchased the wagon with the intentions of building a cruiser we could throw our suit cases on the roof and head out anywhere. I had pondered the LS swap but everyone and their brother is doing them and I wanted something over the top. I love the power of a duramax diesel and the styling of the nova wagon and the rest is history! I contacted 417 motorsports in springfield and let them know my plans and the build began. I found a low mileage 06 LBZ pullout on ,had trans built by local trans shop and delivered the car to 417 in Springfield. Drivetrain The motor is stock except it has a custom dual inlet intake for the turbos. The covers where taken of head and we lazered a set of flat covers to make the motor look a little more eye appealing. The turbos are both rebuilt GM grand national turbos(have no problem showing 30 psi on gauge) The turbo's are cooled by dual custom air to air inter-coolers. The radiator is also custom made to fit the all aluminum custom core support. A single 16in spal fan keeps it all cool(150 in stop and go traffic)The 4L80e trans recieved upgraded internal parts with a Rossler manual drive box. Exhaust is dual 3in from front to rear. Rearend The rear end is a 9in with disc brakes. It has a 2.43 gear for hwy cruising. Car currently has a mini spool in it and also comes with a rebuilt posi unit center section(same gear ratio) Suspension Front suspension It is a custom made Jim Weimers Rod Garage tube front clip. He used thicker wall metal for rails and larger diameter tube for control arms.It has complete RIDETECH air ride shock waves with the E2 controller. The controller was modified to fit in the hole where radio once was(looks killer)All the control valves and air tank is hidden in old luggage in the rear cargo area. Rear Suspension It is a custom made 4 link air bar with shock waves. The front and rear are tied together with a custom made frame connector set up with integrated trans mount. It really ties car together. Wheels Front wheels are 18-5 budnik polished fontanas, rears are 19-8 polished fontanas. Tires are fronts 26-18 mickey thompson front runners Rears are 245-35-19 dunlops Rear cargo area Has a hidden compartment that houses both battery. It is located right behind gas tank and before rear bumper. With carpet over it you would never guess it was there. The fuel tank is a 24 gallon aluminum fuel cell. This car was featured in the CAR CRAFT builders edition magazine(Feb 2010),CAR CRAFT finished feature(Jan 2011),DIESEL POWER MAGAZINE(May 2011) feature and is going to be in featured in HOT ROD MAGAZINE next month(just got off phone with editor today!!) The body on this wagon is the nicest I have ever seen(see pics of bottom of floors) They still have shiney aztec bronze paint on them. Car was undercoated when built and over time the heat has separated the coating from the bottom of car. The bottom of the car is amazing. ZERO RUST anywhere. I looked for a long time to find right car to build(bought 4 other wagons). All windows are nice, back window rolls up and down nicely. Rear window handle and gate diecast are the nicest I have ever seen. This car was just taken from DSM,IOWA to COCO BEACH,FLORIDA for the 2011 power tour. We did complete tour. We put on over 4,000 miles in 9 days!! Car has around 10,000 miles since completed. Interior is old and worn(bottom of front seat has a split where driver sites) but all in all in pretty good shape for 40 yr old interior. There is over 40K in parts and 40K in labor in this build. It is one of a kind and this is the FIRST time offered for sale. Selling to help finance next build. Any questions feel free to ask. I will help arrange shipping anywhere in CONT US,and help aid international buyers anyway possible. Here is a walk around video of car with hood off so you can see the detail work under the hood. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh63EZvSl2o . On Aug-16-11 at 06:31:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked by several people if I have pics during build. These are most that I have on computer.
