This Corvette Is A Restorer’s Dream Find. A fully Documented, High Horsepower (350HP) Mid Year, 2 Top Corvette Convertible That Has Never Been Apart! It Has Had 1 Repaint In The Original Glenn Green lacquer. The 55,000 Miles On The Odometer Are Believed To Be Original And The Condition Of The Interior Does Support These Low Miles! Documentation This Car Comes With The Original Dealer Sales Invoice. Protecto Plate In Its Original Booklet. Original Owners Manual. Radio Tag & Radio Pocket Guide. The Original Dealer “Car Companion” Envelope. Also Included Are Service Records And Receipts. This car is equipped exactly as it left the factory in March of 1965 with the following: Telescopic Steering Wheel. Glenn Green paint with Green Interior. L79 327/350HP Engine. M20 4 Speed Transmission. Tinted Glass. Auxiliary Hard Top. White Soft Top. Am/Fm Radio. 3:55 Posi Tract Rear. Condition of the Body As stated above the car has had a repaint in its original color, This paint is now checking and showing shrinkage. Bonding strips are in place and we can not find evidence of any body repairs. The stainless steel trim is excellent, the emblems are present and in good condition, The rocker panel covers have some dings in them but are restorable, the gas cover lid has some cracks in it but the colors still look good, the chrome bumpers need rechroming and the front grill is a 66/67. Antenna needs replacing. Tail light housings and lenses are in good condition. Interior The interior is very nice. The dash pad is great, all of the gauges work, look great. The gauge glass is clear and the chrome trim rings are very nice. The clock does not work. The only parts of the interior that could use attention are the carpet, seat belt retractor covers, brake & clutch pedal pads. Original seats & seat backs are very presentable, door panels & hardware look very good. Windshield glass and door glass is good as well. Engine Compartment The L79 327/350Hp that this car came with from the factory still powers this car (ORIGINAL #'s MATCHING MOTOR). It runs well and in 2001 a valve job was professionally done and hardened valve seats were installed. (receipt for this included). Carburetor is a Holley replacement with a receipt from 1978 with a credit for the core exchange. Engine compartment is unrestored but all components including ignition shielding are present. Chassis The chassis is unrestored. There are receipts for suspension bushings, universal joints, shocks, mufflers and brake work over the years. Frame shows no signs of any previous repairs and is pretty solid with the exception of the driver side rear key hole. There is some rust around the key hole but it is very repairable. 3:55 Posi Rear end appears original. History This is a 2 owner car with the 2nd owner being the nephew of the original owner. I realize this Corvette is not for the person wanting a turn key mid year Corvette. BUT for the restorer who wants the desireable L79, 4 speed, 2 top convertible with documentation, ownership history, service records, original drivetrain, and great body(No Accidents) with all bonding strips in place, 100% complete you will not find a better candidate than this car.
