1979 JEEP CJ-5 4WD CUSTOM STREET ROD Up for sale is a 1979 JEEP CJ-5 4WD STREET ROD. Just be forewarned - this is not a "buy it for a 16 year old’s birthday" run of the mill Jeep – it is strictly a man toy and all about power! The Jeep has been well kept over the years and is only a 2nd owner vehicle! The owner purchased it about 15 years ago with only 1,200 miles on it. Since then it has averaged only 680 miles a year in use and is now at just over 11,400 miles. Eight years ago the seller had the transmission and transfer case complete disassembled and gone through and inspected with no rebuild or repairs required. Including the first owner, this Jeep has always been stored inside and has never seen a winter. For a Midwest vehicle that is pretty impressive. The vehicle is road ready and can be driven immediately. This Jeep is loud and sounds as tough as it looks – it definitely turns heads! The only thing you need to do is paint it to whatever color that you want. You don’t have to immediately, but it is ready whenever you are. To avoid confusion this is not a Laredo as some may think by looking at the hood. This has been added on because it fits the same and was put on with the intentions of it getting painted in the future. On the back you will see a large aluminum plate that has been bolted to the tailgate. This is how the seller received the vehicle and has never removed the panel from the tailgate to see its condition. The panel bolts are behind the two vertical strips that are attached to it. The outside metal shell has some very minor surface rust spots and we have tried to show most of them in the exterior pictures. The wheels have a little oxidation on them in spots and the underside and pans have minimal surface rust as shown. It is excellent condition for its age! This Jeep does run on pump gas. The seller has been using premium gas and adding a lead additive. The Jeep features thousands of dollars in custom add-ons that were added by both owners. We have listed as many as possible features and add-ons below but we may have missed some that you could see in the pictures in videos we have provided. Literally all you need is a paint job and this Jeep could be show quality! Looking at the items above the first five items alone are $12,550!
