1973 Ford Stroppe Baja Bronco I am listing for auction my 1973 Stroppe Baja Bronco. 302 V-8 with the special U152 heavy duty package, extra cooling package, automatic transmission, 4.11 LS, power steering The VIN number is U15GLR80670 Current mileage is 64,490 I bought this truck in February 2003 w 62,430 miles in California. It was then inspected by Andrew Norton (Baja Bronco expert, owner of this very truck in 2001, and is presently listed in the Baja Bronco database---see www.bajabronco.com) for evaluation and maintenance guidance. The truck was found to be in great shape. It was noted that the following replacements and repairs were made in 2001 (by A Norton): Moog Tuff Coil front springs 14 piece bushing kit--urethane w rubber radius arm bushings New tie rods and sleeves Drag link James Duff rear springs and bushings Front and rear shocks Brakes; original stock drums in good working order and completely overhauled including cylinders, master cylinder, shoes and hardware The truck has the proper Stroppe rollbar (repainted), dual shock mounts, trailer hitch, rubberized steering wheel, US Indy mag wheels, middle seat option. Also has driver side remote mirror (proper Ford option) The following items were repaired/replaced in 2003 when I bought the truck: Complete body prep, dings removed, trim repaired or replaced, new dash from Wild Horses, full repaint. Exhaust gaskets replaced, new bumpers, new decals The interior was redone prior to 2001 in a blue/white vinyl which is not stock but looks nice. The carpet is worn and ruff blue. In 2004 The car had the power steering hoses replaced, the voltage regulator replaced and some minor maintenance carried out. Truck was state inspected in NJ and drove very well... In 2008, the windshield wipers were repaired. Truck was state inspected and drove very well... In 2009 a new battery was installed with tender. At this time the starter was replaced, as well as the radiator, harmonic balancer, water pump and fuel pump. The trucks drives very well. Currently registered in NJ and valid inspection through 2011. The truck has been driven less than 200 miles per year....It needs a new home and more frequent attention. The truck currently is in fantastic operating condition. The motor pulls strongly through 65 mph and handles hills no problem. It starts up immediately. The brakes are excellent. Power steering excellent. The transmission is smooth in 2 wheel drive and in 4 wheel drive. All electrics work including heater fan--both speeds, horn, all lights and high beams, marker lights, interior light (rare), hazards, wipers (both speeds) all gauges work. The glove box is clean and tight. The truck has 3rd gas tank on the passenger side but has never been tested. The truck has very very good (80%) BF Goodrich T/A all around and good dual shocks at each wheel. I added a Sony radio/CD deck with MP3 jack and two box speakers under the rear seat (speakers in speaker boxes--not permanently mounted). Issues: The rubber door seals on the pass side are loose. This has allowed some water to seep in and remain and has caused some early rust. There is also some rust beginning to appear under the passenger side trimline (as seen in picture). There is a squeak coming from the rear window latch that calms with WD-40 but comes back. There is a small chip in the windshield behind the rear view mirror. Missing driver side window crank knob. The truck is being sold as is where is. I will help with pick-up but cannot arrange transport. NON REFUNDABLE Deposit of $2000 due within 72 hours of auction end, balance by certified bank check within 1 week. Please do not bid if you are not ready to or able to finish this transaction right now. There is no reserve, I want this truck to go to a good home. Ask all questions first. This is a super solid driver as is and does not need much to get into show condition.
