Vehicle Detail
This is a wonderful 1978 MGB roadster, a fun car toy for Easter to Thanksgiving (at least up North)! It had 2 previous adult owners who drove it only in fair weather (as I am/and do myself). It has low miles, no rust, and many upgrades. Clear Pennsylvania title and valid PA state inspection, good until June 30, 2011. The car shows no signs of rust/rust repair, and the paint looks original, with various touch-ups here and there (driver's door stress crack, right rear quarter panel a little dented below black stripes, not camera glare above stripes). The speedometer died at 49000 miles and was replaced with one with higher mileage (67000) (both speedos are available). The car starts easily, has good compression (55-75 psi), runs well, shifts smoothly, and is ready to go. Some of the many mechanical upgrades include Allison electronic ignition, carb rebuild, manual choke, Moss stainless steel exhaust, extra radiator fan, new Interstate battery, etc. The interior sports a custom wood steering wheel and shifter knob, recovered vinyl seats (some wear), newish carpet, custom MG floor mats, and JVC radio/CD with extra speakers,. The exterior has what appears to be original vermillion (red/orange), paint, top frame and cover, headlight grills, wing mirrors, 5 knock-off wire wheels, newish oversize tires (Signet 175 70R 14), luggage rack, detatchable roll bar (in my garage), racing stripes and numbers (removable decals), etc. Has convertible top, 2 tonneaus (1 stock/1 for roll bar), and boot cover (4 separate parts) -- all in very good shape, with some normal wear. Some of the things that need attention: ignition key sticks (I have replacement unit); speedometer wobbles; no sun visors (they hamper vision); driver's side seat belt faulty (I have replacement); one rubber tie rod boot cracked; heater inoperative; tops need some small seam stitching; new door speakers need wires attached, and so on -- nothing major. Oh yes, extra keys, driver's manual, and custom car cover. Start it up and spend the fall driving and finessing this very collectible turn-key car! Please note -- this car is 32 years old and is strictly a summer, fair weather toy -- is is not a daily driver for the expressways! (Although I originally drove it back from Ohio -- 300 miles of trouble-free driving!) This is my personal car, and I am happy to answer any questions you might have (Ray/ 610-974-8411/201-675-9855). Serious buyers may inspect and test drive the car in Bethlehem, PA (12 miles from the NJ border) -- call for appointment. If you want a great collectible British roadster that will give years of dependable fun, this car is the one! Car to be sold AS IS/WHERE IS -- no warranty expressed or implied.
