This georgous 1967 Goodwood Green Corvette Convertible was built in St. Louis, Missouri on May 19th, 1967. This corvette was purchased new from Shrewsbury Chevrolet Co, a GM dealership in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. This Goodwood Green 427 / 435hp Corvette is an exceptionally original and unique corvette that was purchased new from a GM dealership in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, Shrewsbury Chevrolet Company, Dealer zone 35, dealer code 051. A Corvette enthusiast from Louisville, Kentucky (Paul P.) purchased this corvette in June, 2005, with the intent of a frame off restoration, NCRS judging, and subsequent sale. This corvette has a gorgeous restored body and new lacquer paint, and a completely rust-free (never rusted) frame. The engine is completely numbers matching with its high performance 427ci 435 hp big block V8, Muncie 4 Speed transmission, and rare 4.11:1 Positraction rear end. Over the years, this car has been nicely preserved and maintained. By The Numbers The original GM VIN plate and original GM Trim Plate on all 1967 Corvettes is affixed to the birdcage just below the glove box. The VIN Tag and Trim tag on this corvette are absolutely original to this corvette. They have been closely examined by several different NCRS master judges, and both tags were determined to be original to this corvette. This motor has been completely rebuilt and restored, and the engine has been broken in on a dyno. These digits match with the last six digits on the VIN tag discussed above. The engine pad on this Corvette is as it should be. Rear End # FB 5 2 67 The rear end on this car is also correct for corvette. The first two letters “FB” represent an optional axle ratio of 4.11:1 with Positraction Rear Axle. The remaining digits represent a manufacture date of May 2nd, 1967. Exterior The paint on this car is awsome, as it should be. The exterior Goodwood Green lacquer paint has the correct sheen, luster, and patina, while the door jambs and body jambs have the correct satin finish. This corvette has all new weatherstriping on the hood, both doors, and the decklid. The front and rear bumpers, door handles, and all exterior chrome has been refinished to show conditon. The window glass in this corvette is all correctly dated to this corvette's 1967 production schedule. The outside mirror is the correct mirror to this corvette, and it appears to be perfect. The windshield wiper arms and wiper blades are of Trico manufacture, as they should be, and they are in perfect condition. The original T3 headlights look awsome in this corvette, and none of the parking lights or rear light lens are blemished or cracked. The NOS black rocker panels, with the thin aluminum accent trim are also in overall el minto condition, as are the side exhaust tips of the dual side exhaust system. This corvette originally came from GM with the standard rally wheels with center caps and trim rings, and this stock appearance is still maintained on this corvette, with original rally wheels, center caps, and trim rings, not to mention period correct dot white side wall tires. Interior The interior of this corvette is in overall pristine condition, as most of this interior is brand new. The saddle tan seat covers and seat foam are pristine they appear as mint condition. All carpeting, both front and rear, is the current new carpeting. The saddle tan dash pads, seat backs, sunshades, and seat belts, are new to this corvette, and they are in perfect condition. The gauges are all original as the entire cluster has been restored, and all of the gauges appear as original and perfect condition. The steering wheel has no cracks, and the 3 spokes have the correct brushed metal appearance. The interior rear view mirror is an original mirror, and it is also in premium condition. The glove box area is also in perfect condition. The glovebox also contains the correct components: key envelope with extra set of keys, pop booklet, original owners manual and owners manual bag, trim ring instruction card, and hardtop wrench. The original saddle tan seat belts are original and functional on this corvette, and they both appear as perfect, on this corvette, and in pristine condition. The console and armrest both appear in el minto condition. The original 1967 corvette jack and lug wrench are included in the rear storage area, behind the front seats. The original jack, and lug wrench are in perfect condition, along with the double rear storage area. The sill plates are restored original sill plates, with the correct configuration. Chassis The frame of this corvette is in as original restored perfect condition, as it should be. The frame, A-arms, trailing arms, dust shields, and front & rear suspension bars have all been restored to factory new condition. The frame shows no evidence of any repairs or replaced frame sections, and the frame is overall in original and restored conditon. The A-arms and control arms, both upper and lower, are the original A-arms to this corvette, and all four appear to be in perfect condition, with no evidence of any type of damage or misuse. The front splash shields are in place and they are also in new and restored condition. Both headlight motors are original corvette headlight motors, and correctly dated. The Delco master cylinder, # 5455509 is the correct Delco part number, along with the Delco master cylinder cap. The original dual side exhaust system, including the chrome exhaust tips are fully functional, and they appear in new restored condition, as they are of GM manufacture. The transmission in this corvette is the original 1967 transmission to this corvette, dated P7B16, February 16, 1967. This transmission is the original Muncie M21 4-speed close ratio transmission ( 7S19103 ), with the original corvette 4-speed shifter. The rear end in this corvette is the original rear end to this corvette. Stamped on the rear end is "FB 5 2 67". That determines that this rear end was built on May 2nd, 1967, and that the rear end ratio is 4.11:1. The rear half shafts are in restored condition as are the rear strut rods, rear sway bar, F41 rear spring, and spindle supports. The optional F41 heavy duty shocks on this corvette are correctly restored to this corvette. Mechanical The engine block on this corvette has the correct casting number and casting date for this corvette. The casting number is 3904351, and the casting date is D 17 7 ( April 17, 1967 ). The numbers on the engine pad are 7119103 and T0501JE. The vin stamp, 7119103, indicates a 1967 corvette and the last 6 digits of this corvette's serial number, 119103. The assembly stamp, T0501JE indicates that the engine was assembled at the Tonawanda, New York plant on May 1st, 1967, and the engine is a 435 hp with 4-speed transmission, and 3 x 2 barrel carburators. The engine and engine compartment are correct for this corvette, and the complete engine and engine compartment are restored. The heads are the correct 3904391 double hump cylinder heads, both dated L 20 6 ( December 20, 1966 ), and also the orange painted metal valve covers are the original big block valve covers, with drippers. The Winters aluminum intake manifold, # 3894374, is also original, and it has no cracks or repairs. The 3) 2-barrel carburators are Holley 2-barrel carburators #3659, # 3660, and # 3659, all with the correct date codes of 723 & 742. 723 is 3rd week of February 1967, and 742 is the 2nd week of April, 1967. The air cleaner is also correct and it is restored, like new, in appearance. The exhaust manifolds are also both correct... # 3880827 and # 3880828. The Delco Remy distributor and Delco Remy Coil are also correct, # 1111258 and # 1115263 coil. The distributor also has the original Delco Remy distributor cap, with no R, and "Patent Pending". The vacuum advance ( 201 ) is also correct, along with the dated AC braided spark plug wires. The fuel pump is the correct AC # 6440482. The water pump is the correct # 3856284, and it is dated correctly for this corvette. The radiator is a correct original radiator, # 3008567. The radiator cap is also the correct RC-15 radiator cap, made by AC Delco. All of the rubber hoses and fan belts are the period correct components and the clamps are also the correctly dated clamps. The alternator is an original # 1100696, and it is also dated correctly, 7 D 12 ( April 12, 1967 ). The voltage regulator is the correct # 1119515, and it is dated correctly 7D ( April, 1967 ). The horn relay is also the correct part # 1115837. The windshield wiper and washer assembly have been restored, and it looks and operates perfectly. Even the oil plug, on the oil pan, is an original part... with the capital A inside of a triangle. Operations As of this writing, everything works on this car. I don’t mean I think it works, I mean it really works. Here’s the list of items just checked recently: Ease of Start - the engine starts with just a single turn of the key and one pump of the gas pedal. Horns - both blow correctly, loud and clear, with both the high tone and low tone. HeadLights – The low beams and high beams both function as designed. These T3 original headlamps look great and the headlight buckets both rotate smoothly and correctly, with no stuttering or delays, to the fully open or closed positions. Parking Lights - The 4) parking lights work correctly, both the front and the rear. License and Tail Lights - both work correctly Brake lights – perfect. Back up lights – perfect. Turn Signals & Hazard warning - all flashers function correctly, and turn signals cancel properly. Windshield wipers and washer – wipers function at both low and high speed, the washer squirts water as it should. All other lights – interior lights, gauge lights. high beam, turn signal, and brake indicator lights. All checked and working. Gauges – every single gauge, Speedometer, Tachometer, fuel, ammeter, temperature, oil pressure, work correctly. Radio – both am & fm stations work correctly, with pushbuttons also working correctly Clock – Works great, and the reset works correctly, mechanical movement. Heater, Defroster, & Fan – blows outside air, or hot air, in either direction, and the fan works fine at all 3 speeds Cigarette lighter – works properly, pops out when ready. Odometer reset - reset works correctly in either direction. Seats - both the passenger and driver seats adjust correctly, and both seat backs lock into position. Seat Belts - both the passenger and driver original seat belts operate correctly, both latching and adjustable. Side Windows - both side windows open and close completely and smoothly, without binding or interference. Vent Windows - both vent windows open and close completely and smoothly, without binding or excessive force. Locks - The ignition key works as designed. Both compartment doors and the glove box door also lock and unlock properly. Doors & Hood - the doors open easily & they close properly and securely. The hood totally closes and it releases correctly. Documentation This corvette has the original tank sheet, which verifies all of the listed options and the original selling dealership. Awards NCRS Regional Top Flight award Gettysburg, Pa., May, 2010 At these judging events, it was also verified that both the GM Vin tag and the GM trim tag are both original and correct to this rare corvette. At all of these judging events, it was verified that the engine is correct for this corvette. At this level, this corvette is a $ 175,000 to $ 200,000 car, given its recent frame off restoration, options, super nice paint and numbers matching drive train.
