1998 Lincoln Town Car Executive Up for bid is a nice 98 Town Car. This vehicle has been my daily driver for nearly 2 years now. It is a very dependable car that, as I have recently purchased a new truck, I no longer have any need for. Below is a list of parts recently added or replaced: Brakes and rotors (front and rear) Fuel pump Ignitions coils Both headlights (they were still functional however, the lenses were cloudy) Replaced the rear air suspension system with standard aftermarket springs (one of the biggest problems with these town cars is the air suspension, if you've ever seen a Lincoln with it's rear end dragging on the ground, this is why. Repair and replacement costs for one of these air systems runs $1500-$2000.) Inspected through June 2011. What's wrong with it? Minor blemishes in the finish consistent with a vehicle of this age and mileage ie;scrapes, scratches, dings (the majority of which have been covered with touch up paint in order to prevent rust) Windshield has a chip near the passanger side (this does not prevent the vehicle from passing state inspection) Front passenger side window occasionally has a mind of it's own and will refuse to be put up or down Obvious wear to the drivers seat however, no cuts or tears in any of the upholstery There are two dummy lights (ABS and CHECK TRAC) showing on the display which I believe my mechanic failed to reset when he last did the brakes. All in all I think there is a lot of good life left in this car. I'm surprised to see how many of these Lincolns you see running around with nearly 300,000 miles on them. That said, I wouldn't have any reservations about driving this vehicle cross country. This is a no reserve auction-high bidder wins! It should be 4.6L V8. Also, I would recommend disregarding the Experian Auto check #. Unfortunately you are unable to list a vehicle on eBay without using this service which I believe is misleading at best. Using this service this vehicle scores a 36. There are 2 reasons for this; 1. The vehicle has had 5 owners and 2. The previous owner inherited the vehicle after his mother passed away and was unable to locate the title so a duplicate title was issued. As an example of why I would recommend ignoring the Experian auto check #; There is another '98 Town Car currently listed with 270,000 miles on it that has been used as a taxi cab and has had reported accidents but because it has only had 2 previous owners it scores a 60 with Experian.
