Vehicle Detail

This is a 1970 Triumph TR6, the first year of the breed. As such, it has nice clean chrome bumpers, without the ugly rubber overriders that disfigured later models. The TR6 has become a British classic -- a lesser Austin-Healey, if you will --, and is continuing to appreciate in value. That said, the car is strictly for restoration -- it was driven into a storage facility about 3 years ago, worked on for a while, and then abandoned for storage fees. I bought it to restore, but have not attempted to start it, and have decided I don't have the resources to get it up and running -- your turn! The odometer says 54,100 miles -- but who knows for sure? The car is fairly complete, as far as I can tell -- the body appears to be pretty sound -- the sills seem solid (original or replacements/I'm not sure), and the trunk floor pan has only a couple of small rust holes. -- but no guarantees in this regard (check out the pics). Small dent beside right side headlight. The chrome looks good (especially the bumpers) -- and the car has a nice set of painted wire wheels, a nice feature of the earlier models. The engine looks to be mostly complete (twin carbs/missing cover plates?), but I have no idea whether it will run or not after so long in storage. The shifter and brakes worked when the car came off the trailer. The interior is well used, but much of it can be saved. The top frame looks OK, and the unattached top seems to be fairly new and in nice shape (a couple of small cuts) -- the plexiglass rear window shows no signs of wear. I really can't say much more, as I haven't had the car very long and I've also had it in storage. But one thing's for sure -- this is strictly a barn find -- mostly solid, but non-running, and in need of extensive restoration. As such, it would make a nice summer/winter project, if you have the skills and resources (not to say patience!) to get it back on the road. Has original key and driver's manual, much tattered but complete. Also has tattered but servicable car cover. Missing spec plate on door jamb, but clean New Jersey title in hand. Can be inspected in Bethlehem, PA, just over the New Jersey border. Call me (Ray) for an appointment to see (610-974-8411) To be sold strictly AS IS/WHERE IS -- no warrantly stated or implied. Transportation is up to the buyer. NO RESERVE -- high bidder takes it home! On Jun-04-10 at 14:11:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Note: I've added 4 pics of the floor pans and the space behind the seat. The driver side floor pan is quite rusty, with a couple of small perforations -- it will definitely need work and/or replacement. The passenger side floor pan looks much better -- maybe not much more than surface rust, but I can't say for sure. The area behind the seats looks pretty solid, from what I can tell. Check out the pics. To repeat my main point -- while you might get this car up and running for the summer, come the winter it has to be regarded as a restoration project -- strictly not a gas and go. Please bid with this consideration in mind.
