floridaattic Store WELCOME TO FLORIDA ATTIC Item Description Up for auction, a 1993, rust free, four door, Mercury Topaz that now looks like my vision of a Mercedes UTE. Goggle UTE! I built the bed out of marine plywood and covered it with FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) sheet and caulked the corners with 3-M 5200 Marine Adhesive Sealant. There is a scupper to let rain water or spilled beer drain out of the bed. There are 85,818.0 miles on the engine is a 3.0 Vulcan V-6 with an automatic. It has a new radiator and it is running great. You could hang meat in the Ice cold A/C! The system was designed for a four door sedan so it cools a two seater VERY well. Power window motors are rebuilt. The armrest houses a 12-Volt cooler/warmer. Keep drinks cold or takeout food warm. Handy with the A/C. The paint is Pettit Easypoxy polyurethane topside. Applied using the roll and tip method, just the way yachts are painted.As you can see, It looks nice and shiney. The finish buffing nor waxing have been done yet. So what is wrong with it? The transmission shifts hard into 2nd and 3rd gear and downshifts hard. It either needs a TB Cable adjustment or at worse, these transmissions cost $200-250 at a local junk yard. This vehicle was built to be used and I did. There are some seem cracks as can be seen in the pictures. The rear brakes squeal. The sound system installation needs to be finished. If the winning bid is over $1,500, I will add a 1600 watt amp free. The interior needs finishing, the area's where I have not installed the sound system yet. I also have left over materials that will go with the car. It also needs a window switch bezel. The passenger seatbelt needs to be replaced. Why did I build this? Because I could! Why cruise around town in a stock POS when you can travel in a one of a kind vehicle? Why did I make it look like a Mercedes? I sell car parts on ebay and I have a nice stock to play with and I thought the grill worked nicely. Why is it not finished and why are you selling it?
