Vehicle Detail

Very rare and hard to find in this condition. In case you don't know what a "Longhorn" is, it has a 8-1/2 foot bed with a wood floor and extra heavy duty suspension factory built to haul a slide in camper. if you look carefully at the pictures you can see the factory addition of the 6 inches in the bed right behind the cab GM wasn't very subtle about it as you can see the parting line. I have been a fan of 67-72 GM trucks for years and never heard of a Longhorn until found this one! I did a frame off restoration on a 72 GMC about 20 years ago. I bought this one with the intention of restoring it but I have kind of fallen on hard times here and need to sell it. I have had it a little over a month and have driven it almost every day. It is very dependable and runs/drives like a dream I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I am a former ASE Certified Master Technician so i know what I am doing. I was told by the guy I bought it from that it was in inside storage for several years. The title documents the milage 63,800 "actual". The motor is a small block 350 4-BBL, (still has the points type distrubitor), I am assuming the engine is original but I never ran the numbers, but it should be a 4-bolt main. Turbo. 350 transmission that works flawlessly. no major oil leaks anywhere, Power steering, power drum brakes all around. The interior is all original right down to the rubber floor mat. It still has the factory AM radio that still works. Everything still works great including all of the interior and exterior lights, yes, even the license plate light works. The bench seat as a couple of small tears in it but still functions well. The dash pad has one split in it right down the middle I have another nice used one I will throw in with the deal. I also have the Longhorn emblem that is missing on the passenger side. I have replaced the ugly-ass mirrors that were on it with factory sport mirrors (reproduction of course) but good quality. I have also replaced the sill plates with new chrome ones. The body is pretty good for 40 years old but it does have some rust issues. The passenger side rocker has a small hole rusted in it, and the floor supports are going like they all do, but the floor pans are still very solid as are the cab corners, the passenger door is very solid, no obvious rust, the driver door is starting to go with a couple of quarter sized holes in it near the bottom. The bed is starting to rust here and there mainly around the arches (like they all do) but hey this truck turns heads like no get out from 20 feet away. All in all this thing is pretty solid and still looks good. near as I can tell the paint is original. The wood in the bed has seen better days but 95% of the wood is still there but starting to rot away. I do not see any major rust through on the front fenders, inner fenders, core support, hood or tailgate, above the windshield is solid as a rock, I have seen alot of these rust there for some reason. If you are looking for a Longhorn to restore then this is the one, (unmolested original condition) or drive it like it is. I plan on putting alot more pictures on here tomorrow (my camera batteries died and by the time I got them charged I ran out of daylight). Any questions, or if you want to come look at it please use the ask seller a question link, I will provide my phone number if you would rather talk, I am located in Akron Ohio just south of Cleveland, Jim Serious bidders only please, and don't ask what the reserve is, if you want to know what that is then bid on it, you are not obligated to buy it unless the reserve is met, got it!
