Vehicle Detail

1978 Chevy C10 Custom Deluxe Short Bed Step Side20,375 original milesThis truck has been in the same family since its original purchase 40 years ago by an elderly relative of mine. I acquired the vehicle approximately 10 years ago where it has been garage kept since. All belts, hoses, water pump, fuel pump, carb rebuilt, wiper blades, battery and anything else that had rubber in it that would have degraded over the years has been replaced including a new set of tires that have less than 1000 miles on them. Also, just replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, fly wheel and pilot bearing not because they were worn out but because the elderly lady that owned the truck slipped the clutch a lot when she drove it. I just didn’t want any problems later on. This truck is as basic a truck as you can get:6cyl 4.83 speed standard on the column (3 on the tree)No radio (from factory)No air conditionerNo power steeringNo cruise controlVinyl bench seat excellent condition (looks like new)Manual crank up and down windows (kids may need directions to operate) The only real issues with this C10 are the rubber floor mat need to be replaced (cracked and coming apart) the dash is cracked and needs to be replaced approx. $300.00 to replace both. Also, the wood planks in the bed are rotten and I have a piece of plywood laying on top of them. There are the usual small dents and dings but nothing of any size or concern. There is the usual surface rust in the usual places but no real rot or rust through. As you can see from the pictures the paint is original and as far as I know never even been waxed. All I have done is pressure wash the truck and engine compartment. No Armor All to make the interior shinny. There is no telling what it might look like with a wax and a buff job. I am not trying to hide any of the cosmetic flaws but mechanically this truck is in very good condition. If someone is looking for a completely stock all original C10 they would be hard pressed to find a better example than this truck. This truck was originally purchased in and driven in east Texas then I brought it to Arkansas. If you need any more info or pictures I would be happy to supply. Out of all the vehicles I own this truck and my John Deere always start right up (no computer to drain battery). I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this truck across the country right now it runs that good. Oh, and that’s not a mistake on the mileage its really only got 20,000 miles on it and I’ve put 6,500 of those miles on it in the last 10 years. It even still has the original cardboard seatbelt instruction sleeve over the passenger sun visor. This truck is very slick to be 40 years old.
