"Retired Police Cruiser for the Village of Apple Creek, Ohio" Up for sale is a 2012 Dodge Charger. It is used and being sold "AS IS" !! At the time of taking pictures (3-5-2018) - The vehicle did start on it's on, and it was drove around the facility. It goes into both Reverse and Drive just fine and these was no hesitation (outside of normal shifting) that we noted. This vehicle has been retired and not used for approximately 10-12 months. We were not able to check the A/C as it was Freezing Temps when we took pictures, so the status is UNKNOWN. The Police Chief did state that is was in working order when they retired it. You can tell by the pictures there is some scratches, minor rusted areas, and perhaps some dings from use over the years. We are told that the COLOR DISTORTION on both sides of the doors is an Adhesive FROM a Label where their info was that will need to come off. That will be the responsibility of the buyer. Tires we feel in our opinion have about 30%-40% tread life left. Condition of the battery (how much longer it will last) is unknown. The FRONT END is loose, but still able to be driven. You may want to consult your own mechanic on this prior to bidding. They had it fixed within the last two years, they THINK maybe it's the "Tie Rods" or "Cross Brace"?? It was an issue with most Dodge Chargers, but based on Google, it seems there may be a more permanent fix for it. The Steering is HARD, but we were able to still drive it. Might be something with the power steering fluid ? Pump? Etc.? The front drivers floor mat we noticed some (small amount) of water that leaked in. This MIGHT BE from the removal of the light bars / wiring. We do not know but saw (pictured) some moisture there. We also hear what I call typical Valve Tapping once the engine has started. The police department told us it has always done this and has never hindered their performance while they used it. Other than the items listed above, we have no known other issues with it. TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE: Please understand that we DO NOT thoroughly test every aspect of the vehicles other than to make sure they can be driven. So YOU MIGHT HAVE a head light, bulb out, other minor electrical issues or mechanical issues that we WILL NOT make price adjustments if we missed them. You can see by our SELLERS Rating we always try to list all known issues based on what the government type facilities tell us, and they are usually accurate with us. This may be SEEN in person at their facility, BY APPOINTMENT (so email us for that), but due to insurance purposes & Township, it CAN'T BE DRIVEN to test it. They will be happy to start it up.
