THE GOOD: Suzuki has clean FL title and current antique motorcycle tag. Bike is clean and has low miles. (Speedo mileage may or may not be correct as coupling collar on cable was missing when bike purchased. However the lack of wear on brakes and original tires indicate very low miles). Speedo cable has been replaced. The T500 always starts on first or second kick. Bike idles and revs very well but smokes. It also shifts and brakes well (for drum brakes). Bike does not leak any fluids. All electrics are operable except front brake light switch which is missing. Both the tach and speedo operate very smoothly. Rear tire has been replaced and a new front tire will be included with purchase. Both original tires can be included upon request. Current front tire came with replacement wheel (original was very pitted). Bike is mostly original. Petcock has been replaced with manual valve as original leaked. Air cleaner boot has also been replaced. Handlebars with crossbar are from an earlier model. Rear turn signal lenses are amber and should be red. Mirrors are aftermarket. Previous owner recently replaced air filter and battery. Tool kit is aftermarket. THE BAD: Both cylinders appear to be sucking transmission oil. If so, replacement of all crankshaft seals would be in order. One CCI check valve for left cylinder is stuck open and should be repaired or replaced. Remaining check valves function properly. Oil lines are not presently installed but will be shipped with bike. New check valve gaskets are included in the auction. Defective check valve has been painted red. One crankcase sump drain is stripped and could be repaired at owner's discretion. Defective drain plug has been painted red. THE UGLY: Bike is a rider and not a show bike. From road rash on the front fender to rust & pits on the rear fender the bike has warts. Virtually every part is blemished to some degree. Anyone looking for perfection should not consider bidding on this bike. In spite of the cosmetic shortcomings the 500 always receives positive reviews from passer-bys. A section of the sprocket cover has been broken away. (See photo). Damage is not immediately noticeable and does not pose any problems. If necessary please ask all questions or request any additional photos before bidding. Buyer should alert shipper that at least one tire (the new front) and a small box (for oil lines, mirrors, etc) will be shipped with bike. Title will be mailed to buyer. Seller can assist in loading for shipment. ANYYONE WITH A BIDDING HISTORY OF LESS THAN FIVE MUST CONTACT SELLER BEFORE BIDDING. Bike has been advertised locally.
