This auction is for a VERY clean 1971 Ossa 250 Pioneer enduro (5 speed). This is not a perfect museum piece, but HAS been painstakingly resurrected with lots of TLC. I had a 1970 4 speed when I was young and remember the tremendous torque and light weight these bikes had. This is a powerful 2 stroke engine, which uses pre-mixed fuel/oil. Since we have decided to move to a newer home and don't have indoor storage for my collection (this has always been garaged since I've owned it), I feel it's time to let someone else enjoy this classic (I will have other bikes listed soon - check our listings).To start with, the engine has been totally rebuilt (bored first over, new piston and rings, gaskets, seals,) by a factory trained Honda mechanic with over 50 years of experience. Compression is now incredible (bike was pretty tired when I got it). You will actually have to BREAK THIS ENGINE IN I have NOT started it since getting the motor back in the frame, so some tuning will be involved. The previous owner had stripped this bike down for off road use only; it is currently wired to run without a key, a new kill button has been installed. A complete wiring harness and collection of switches, keys, and stock electrical components are included, in addition to an official OSSA toolbag, OEM speedometer, mount (you'll need the rubber band) and cable, several speedometer drives so you can install the correct one, spare stock rear fender, pair of gas tank badges, and more (see photos). This also has the "quick removable" muffler! Frame decal number is 250-AE-71, engine number is M301969. We will also be included an original OEM Shop Manual for this bike.Cosmetically, there is some minor wear and tear, as to be expected – call it PATINA. Since there was no speedometer on the bike when I got it, the mileage is unknown. This bike has SEVERAL special one-off parts, including the Stiletto (or Six Days) rear fender/number plate, a Lucas aluminum taillight, custom Maier PLASTIC front fender (former owner worked there and they made it to look like the original fiberglass one which was always prone to cracking) and color coordinated handguards/barkbusters (not installed). Tires are like new, forks will need new seals soon (a pair is included). You'll need a new drive chain (the old one was rusty) and fuel lines. All other cables function fine including the quick turn throttle! This Spanish classic is all complete (it took me a LONG time to source all the parts so you don't have to), here is a chance for you to OWN HISTORY! This bike deserves a great home and has always been stored indoors since I've owned it. We try to accurately describe the shortcomings, but look at the photos and ask questions before bidding. .
