2002 Pontiac Grand Am 2 Door Coupe 4 cyl Auto Clear Title, Car 4 New Driver I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with 139,355 miles on it. This car has a 4 cyl engine and an automatic transmission. The car has recently had a tune up and the head lamps were replaced with new ones not long ago. It runs and drives fine, but at times can be hard to start. Engine turns over fine but sounds like its not getting fire. I think it needs a new key switch, because you can wiggle it and it will start after a few tries. There are some minor scrapes on the right rear quarter panel from my son getting too close to a gate post. It's a southern car, so there is little to no body rusting on it. The air conditioning is out and the dash is damaged from heat from the sun (a lot of cars from this time period have that, due to GM not making them more sunlight resistant). Other than that it has the normal wear and tear you find on a car it's age. The tires have about 30% tread remaining and are wearing evenly. It would make a great first car for a new driver. We purchased five years ago for our son, thinking he'd wreck it and he never did! Get them something inexpensive for the first car, chances are they will crash it.
