PLEASE read the description and carefully examine all the photos. I've noted in the listing 90% of the answers to questions people are asking when they contact me. I will check email once or twice a day. This is a 2006 Toyota Prius. When it last ran, about 2 years ago, it got great gas mileage. But one day, despite that, I ran out of gas, and the battery ran down. I had it towed home, and tried and tried to charge the battery (the little one, not the big one). Eventually I had it towed to Toyota, and they told me it was only fixable if I bought a new high capacity (HV) battery - the big one. And had the fuse box fixed since there was corrosion. The car has about 170K miles on it, and many body panels have a scratch or a dent. I was going to give it to NHPR, but figured I'd list it on eBay and see if anyone was interested. I've heard these cars go 250,000 miles or more, and I've never had any other trouble with it. It did have an accident back in 2008. Went into a ditch in a snowstorm, but completely fixed and ran great for years after that. Someone could probably part it out and get something for parts alone. Please ask for specific pictures of what you're interested in, and save us both time. I'd rather give it to NHPR and take the tax write off than go through the hassle of showing it to a string of curious tire kickers. If someone were truly serious, we can figure out how to see it in person. Please do not expect that it's an easy task to get the car running and drive it away. If you want it, you can tow it away, but I doubt it will be driven away. Please understand this before even considering buying it. I am the original owner. I bought the car in 2006 for $24,000 from Ira Toyota in Manchester, New Hampshire. I still have the original literature that came with the car when it was new. FWIW, I was contacted by someone local who can do a Li-Ion conversion for less than $600. I don't know any more than that. Please email me if you have any questions or need additional photos.
