FEATURED DEALER Motorsport Garage 900 US 202 N. Neshanic Station, NJ 08853 (732) 742-0435 FEATURED VEHICLE 1986 Porsche 928 S 2dr Hatchback VEHICLE DETAILS Year: 1986 Make: Porsche Model: 928 Trim: S 2dr Hatchback Engine: 5.0L V8 Transmission: Manual 5-Speed Fuel Type: Gasoline Exterior: Red Interior: Brown Mileage: 91098 Vin: WP0JB0921GS862175 Stock#: Body Style: Hatchback Condition: Used VEHICLE INFO Thank you for viewing our 1986.5 Porsche 928 S 5 speed manual. This 928 is finished in Garnet Red over Brown interior and has 90,091 original miles. This 928 is a hard to find car because it is a 1986 1/2 or known as 86.5. For 86.5, 928's came with the larger S4 brakes, dual rear mufflers, and S4 suspension. This one being a 5 speed manual makes it even rarer. Clean history and clean title in hand. We have over $20,000 in service records since 2006 @ 80K miles. The interior of this 928 has been partially gutted with the intent to become a track/street car. The entire hatch area materials have been removed, the headliner and sun visors are also removed. The dash, front carpeting, front seats, door panels, still remain. The A/C compressor/condenser have been deleted, as well as the belt driven cooling fan. There is a 928 Motorsports upgraded electric cooling ran from a toggle switch under the dash. This Fan works excellent, this 928 has idled in the 95 degree heat and the coolant gauge always stays right a half point. The wheels are upgraded 18'' staggered with 235/40/18 tires up front, and 295/35/18 in the rear. The cars looks very tough and has a nice stance. We have over $20,000 in service records for the 928. The car drives solid, you can drive this 928 anywhere. The engine is strong and has good compression in all cylinders. The clutch and transmission both operate fine, all gears grab good and never grind. There is a $7,000 receipt from April 2006 @ 81,146 miles showing replacement of the clutch, flywheel, transmission rebuild, torque tube. On January 2006 @ 80,288 miles $6,700 for timing belt, water pump, front engine seals, new oil pan, V/C gaskets, new steering rack, new power steering hoses, and vacuum hoses. In September 2007 @ 82,039 miles a $4,023 receipt for intake freshen up, including all new gaskets, fuel injectors, and new fuel pressure regulators. This year the current owner has put $3,500 into complete tune up parts, all filters, fluids, new oil pan gasket, complete fuel system clean, new right rear axle, steering rack boots, axle side flange seals, and a fresh synthetic oil change less than 100 miles ago. The body of the car is straight with no significant dings or dents. There is typical chipping and scratches for a 30 year old car. The car does have paint work in areas and presents well. This 928 is not a show car but looks good. I have taken tons of pictures around the body showing all flaws. The Vin tag and paint code are both present in the driver door jam. The metal Vin tag under the hood is present on the passenger inner fender. The dash has typical cracking due to sun/heat exposure of the years. The seats are decent for the age.The windows operate up and down great. The sunroof works fine. The headlights operate as they should. All gauges work and are accurate.Things to address: The blower does not work. The passenger door does not open from the outside, only opens from the pulling the handle inside. The e-brake does not work. The engine pull handle is currently loose under the dash and needs to be put back in place. The engine has a low RPM miss, could be a bad MAF, or bad ground. All this 928 needs is to be completed. 928 Motorsports makes a nice race suspension kit that will make this car perfect on the track. Put a roll cage in the car, some long tube headers and performance exhaust and you will have monster on the track! If you have any questions please contact us and we will be glad to help. You will not find another 1986.5 928 5 speed manual for this price anywhere!
